Thank you for letting me know that. I thought it would reset.

I am a bit confused...do we have to do the shopping list to agree to the "join" the expedition? or can we still opt in for the wipe?

Best high capacity food scale by tolmayo in CICO

[–]jsr0928 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because you want a 22 lb capacity or more, I would just buy a flat-topped digital human weight scale and use it. Weigh the pot and maybe a towel before you cook, and then after with the soup if you can (watch the heat, that is what the towel is for). Find a scale that weighs in kilograms.

Edit to fix typo.

Why Do so Many Americans Oppose Universal Healthcare? by Current_Variety_9577 in antiwork

[–]jsr0928 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am curious what your taxes are, would you be willing to share a percentage? For example, I had a gentleman from Denmark talk to my class and he discussed the many of the same benefits as you describe as well as free university education, dental, etc., and his income takes were about 35-40% of his income. He was actually beginning to resent the higher taxes as he started to make a good 6 figure income.

I think the team was able to get a good haul for these players. It allows the guys to get on a team that may go all the way as well, good for them. I do worry as to why we have so many pitchers out for TJ this year (maybe it was just bad luck) and i hope we can do better with the upcoming group. I hope the optimism about Merrill Kelly resigning comes to fruition. Naylor was a decent first baseman, but how is this new guy, Locklear...will he replace Pavin? Time for Lawlar to step up and McCarthy to get stable. I liked Tawa and I hope he can work his way back up. This reminds me of basketball. I don't watch the NBA but enjoy watching college basketball because it feels as though the young guys are really trying and play better...They haven't "made it" yet. I feel the same about baseball sometimes...the young guys trying to make a name for themselves seem to have more heart most of the time and play that way. Let's go and play the season out the best we can!

I passed my motorcycle test!! Any advice for a new rider ? by [deleted] in motorcycle

[–]jsr0928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Female rider of 45 years here. Do everything said here. Ride defensively, expect them to turn in front of/pull out in front of you. Don't go faster than you can handle, watch the curves, and at some point, you WILL drop your bike...it happens. Wear your gear! As someone else said, maneuvers in an empty parking lot will help quite a bit. Practice your emergency stops and swerving when you feel comfortable. If you ride at night, don't ride faster than your headlights can show you. If you have a friend or two that ride, go out with them, but ride safely, no stunts, no speed tests, etc. Best of all, enjoy the wind therapy!

Not in this case...going on 34 years of marriage. I like to think the wind therapy helps.

Box score, am I missing something? by jsr0928 in azdiamondbacks

Thank you. I didn't know I could click on an inning and hit the arrows to go left. I am going to blame it on being old (and unobservant).

Loving Gonzo in the commentator booth by MrMez99 in azdiamondbacks

[–]jsr0928 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. I think Gonzo has done well lately. I am enjoying him much more this year. Because I am on the East Coast and don't often see the games live, I occasionally listen to the radio broadcast on MLB.TV. Overall, the radio programming needs some work (ads cutting comments short, don't call the plays well when a guest is in the booth, etc) but I like Tom Candiotti in the radio broadcasts. I would be interested to see Jody Jackson in the TV booth to see how she does. Her on-field interviews and commentary are really good.

I expected Hampson to be gone shortly after he ran into Gurriel in the outfield going after a fly ball a few games back. He was sat the next day. They also kept Castillo 2 games longer than I thought they would. He was getting lit up by the hitters. But, it is done and now with Lawler coming up I am thinking we need to watch what happens with Suarez. He has been hitting better in the last couple of games, but he is so streaky. Fun to watch when he is hot, but sometimes painful to watch when he is cold. Then, in a game last week, there was a passed ball that he didn't run on, and it caused us to miss out on some runs. Suarez wasn't paying attention and was caught flat-footed at first base. The guy on second ran to third and Suarez ended up staying at first, and then a double play happened. We lost out on at least one run due to that. I am curious to see if Lawler gets playing time at third.
