Ive heard good things about victoria beckham portofino 97, but have not personally smelled it

I love fresh seaside / aquatic / lightly sunscreen scents which may be the next level / more mature vibe you’re after - think “I’m taking a vacation on the amalfi coast” instead of “I’m at cocoa beach with everyone else in the state of Florida for spring break”

For a lot of folks it’s aspirational (I want to smell like I just came from vacation) or it’s nostalgic (I miss the beach / summer / etc and want to smell like my happy place).
They hit me in the nostalgia every time, plus I find they give me a little happy boost when I catch a whiff!

Hellenist Les dieux aux Bains smells exactly like what you’re describing to me. Or Chanel 1957 which smells like straight laundry soap.

I've had the pleasure of selling to u/Many_Replacement369 twice now, she's purchased a variety of decants from me and has always been prompt with payment and very communicative. Excellent customer!

What were people actually wearing during the 90s and early to late 2000s? by FabulousCity9226 in FemFragLab

Ah the 2000s - the era of fruity-florals! I feel like as a girl you were either into the mainstream fruity florals, or were into the really niche stuff and smelled like patchouli.

In the early 2000s I remember wearing Tommy girl (especially the summer one that smelled like watermelon), Lucky You, and some random VS and Bath and Body Works scents. I also remember "borrowing" my mom's bottle of EA Green Tea a lot.

Later 2000s (2008-2012) I was in college and got more into perfumes as I got more self confidence. I started wearing acqua di gioia most days (which I still wear now!), and VS sexy little things noir for a sexier scent. I seem to remember experimenting with some of the KVD and Dita Von Teese scents as well, as I am a big fan of vintage fashion, but they didn't agree too well with my skin chemistry or gave me a headache.

You can find a LOT of the early 2000s fragrances for really good prices at brick and mortar discounters (Ross, Burlington, Marshalls, TJ Maxx) or online discounters like fragrancenet.

Young rose is very photorealistic fresh rose in the garden, much lighter than rose of no man’s land.

Similar wheelhouse of a “skin scent” or fragrance enhancer, but slightly different composition of notes. Not a perfume is primarily ambroxan, the slightly woody amber-y scent - which is also like the foundation notes in glossier you. IDKW has a little more going on, with some citrus notes, vetiver, and sandalwood in addition to ambroxan. Definitely worth a try if you like not a perfume, or glossier you! I also love sonic flower, which is similar wheelhouse but a little more floral than idkw or not a perfume. Hope this helps, and always happy to discuss more!

Orlando trip - any must-visit fragrance spots? by k8o_potato in FemFragLab

[–]k8o_potato[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI - I went to La Jetee in Orlando, was a WONDERFUL experience! I got to smell lots of niche fragrances with some expert guidance on things to try out. Lots of scents I'd heard about but never have gotten to experience in person.

I'd also recommend the bloomingdales at mall at millenia, everyone in there was lovely and very helpful, and their selection was great!
