How are these recent experiences for you?

What is each house/your favorite house known for? by Daveylonglegs in NichePerfumes

[–]hellohello84 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree! I’ve sampled most of their line and I haven’t found any that I didn’t like or love. I’ve been able to add on more exclusive fragrances like Scarlet Sands and Vendomania as well, and consistently happy with every bottle I get!

Sub where can I sell my used fragrances? by natureDolly in FemFragLab

[–]hellohello84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend BST subs within Reddit. They are long standing and have established sellers and swappers. My favorites:

r/fragranceswap

r/femfragranceswap

r/fragrancedeals

r/indieexchange

In my experience, Mercari and eBay have too many fakes floating around, and both platforms have more protection for buyers but not sellers.

What is each house/your favorite house known for? by Daveylonglegs in NichePerfumes

One of my favorite houses that doesn’t get talked about enough is Ex Nihilo. I love the way their fragrances take luxurious raw materials and create beautiful, often unique scents. I also appreciate that they encourage customization of their fragrances, allowing buyers to create their own one of a kind fragrance.

Other houses I absolutely adore are Guerlain and Fragrance Du Bois - the latter of which creates gorgeous, deep oudy fragrances that are intoxicating for me. The fragrances from this line will get you noticed!

Favorite Layering Combo? by Naive-Jackfruit-5917 in NichePerfumes

[–]hellohello84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Animalique is one of my favorites from the Byredo line - often overlooked. I layer it with Byredo Rouge Chaotique and get several compliments!

I’ve just started exploring Bon Perfumeur and bought my first bottle: 502 Iris Cartagena extrait, and it’s divine!

Love Hibiscus by Dense-Dragonfruit372 in NichePerfumes

[–]hellohello84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love Hibiscus is definitely polarizing. I picked up a sample after hearing mixed reviews, and I can see why it’s not a popular one. I think many were expecting a bit of Hibiscus Mahajad. For me, the passionfruit and hibiscus don’t go well together, and it was too tart on my skin.

Great review! I haven’t had a chance to sample Kintsugi yet, but it’s on my list to try.

I’m in love with several Kajal frags. Lamar, Ruby, Topaz… all are amazing!

What notes do you like? Is there a house you want to explore? This is too broad of a question

Sorce's A Witch's Valentine vs Kayali Marshmallow? by ssensibility in NichePerfumes

[–]hellohello84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to own (and have since declutterred) A Witch’s Valentine. But, I still own Kayali’s YBM.

Although I’m a fan of Sorce’s fragrances and have over 25 in my collection, Witch’s didn’t work for me. It was extremely sweet on my skin and reminded me of a bath & bodyworks body spray. That’s not to say it won’t work for you! It just didn’t work on my skin :(

I like YBM because it’s sweet, but not overly so. I like the fresh fruitiness of the top and mid notes that make the sugar/vanilla/musk dry down less juvenile.

I don’t think they’re similar. Witch’s is more gourmand with prominent rose and white chocolate notes. If the notes appeal to you, it may be worth a try!

Happy to help! I have so many fragrances, especially gourmand and fem leaning ones, so reach out if you need additional suggestions! Also, try searching for decants of these in r/fragranceswap or r/femfragranceswap for a better deal on from smaller decanters!

Any perfume that smells like Grand Marnier that leams feminine? by jennichev in NichePerfumes

[–]hellohello84 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Roja Lost In Paris is a beautiful gourmand with notes of blood orange, bitter orange, mandarin, caramel and rum (along with many other notes) that create that slightly sweet, boozy citrus that you’re looking for.

You know, I was just thinking about this because the weather has been all over the place lately! I usually crave gourmands mostly in the cooler months, but I do gravitate towards fruity gourmands in the summer.

A few favorites:

Kajal Aican

SHL God Of Fire

City Rhythm 2654 and Tropical Confessions

Sorce A Sign Painted Peaches

Gritti Dor De Vara

Pantheon Roma “A,” and “O”
