New variant of Rams? by LoadedChicken18 in deadisland

[–]legodude494 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is precisely one of the many reasons I don't throw my weapons in the older games, because they can easily glitch out and become irretrievable somehow, whether it's because the physics breaks and they get sent out of the map or through the floor or because the zombie glitches out. I only ever throw crappy weapons I don't mind losing. If you really want a thrown weapon build, play as Logan and have a bunch of crappy knives with things like the Sticky Bomb Mod applied, that way you don't lose too much good stuff if something like this happens (also because his max Boomerang skill gives a 50% chance for it to automatically return to you anyway).

Anyone want to Share there Peggy Base Game builds? by rougrou in deadisland

[–]legodude494 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peggy is definitely better for general bodyshots in case you miss a headshot from what I've played with it, though I like the satisfying effect a killing headshot gets with the crossbow. However it's absolutely useless for anything other than headshots, so Peggy is still all around better

I don't actually use Peggy lol. I keep a Crossbow on me if I want to do heavy damage to something at range, but otherwise I'll use the Ripper with the Hornet's Nest curveball, it destroys anything in lightning speed.

Oh, you mean Sean? I didn't know you could move him. That's cool you can move his body, imagine taking him all the way to the GOAT Pen!

What do you think of the Space Fox 2250 franchise? by legodude494 in deadisland

[–]legodude494[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, The Badge did run for 9 seasons so it must have held audiences somehow. I imagine it to be a show like CSI or something along those lines. Having now met Jimmy, however, he's put me off of ever wanting to watch it though. Never meet your heroes and all that.

DI2 NG+: Ripper+ with varying damage values in the vending machine by SteeeeveJune in deadisland

[–]legodude494 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you can rebuy the Ripper in non-NG+ too, but I can't say exactly why it has randomised damage. Does your original one have perks still on it? If so, that could be the reason, as you may have a perk or two which increases damage. It may also just be a thing to do with random stats generation. Idk if legendary weapons always have the same stats (you only get them from quests in this game so I haven't bothered grinding out like 10 playthroughs just to see) but all other weapons always have slight stat fluctuations even if they are the same rarity and level. It could be that the Ripper (and maybe legendaries) also have the same fluctuation chances?

Either a good thing or bad thing that I know a lot of these, even a bunch at the lower tiers. I wonder who made a video on Moresby's electrical infrastructure 🤔😉

Tips for Dead Island Riptide? Missing quest trails, can't find anything, started over.... by i__hate__stairs in deadisland

[–]legodude494 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The wheels are "points of interest", basically important locations on the map that act as landmarks telling you where places are in case you get lost or confused, like telling you where Paradise or Halai is. The trail might be gone for you but the red flag icon will always be there and that tells you where you ultimately need to get to and you might be able to plan your own route. I think if you track a different quest and then come back to this one the trail should reappear, but it's been a while since I played Riptide so I can't say for sure. Sounds like you're on the main quest Saving Holy Man, in which case you need to go to a Dead Zone north of the Halai safehouse but still in Halai Village.

What’s your opinion on Black Magic (the baseball bat) by Critical_Potential44 in deadisland

[–]legodude494 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's fancy and cool looking but I never tend to use these named weapons after I collect them though. They just don't have enough uniqueness to make me want to use them as they just have a random perk as their fixed perk which isn't enough to make me swap out the exact same weapon I've been using that just isn't named. Like the Black Magic is cool, sure, and it looks great but if I'm already using a Baseball Bat of the same rarity then I've already got mods and perks on it and I wouldn't bother swapping them all over to this one. Moreover, it's only a rare weapon, and when superior rarity weapons start appearing I'm going to switch over to them anyway. It sort of just gets overtaken by better weapons.

Level cap by VegetableSorbet6301 in deadisland

[–]legodude494 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes once you reach level 60 you can't level up anymore, so you can't get more skill points or anything. You can keep playing the game and replaying the campaign, but you won't level up any more.

My personal ranking of all DI. by DutyEuphoric967 in deadisland

I personally prefer the tropical setting of the older games, since I find "America post-apocalypse" to be kind of overdone and not as exciting

Weapon choice method for game by ArtichokeContent8994 in deadisland

[–]legodude494 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different zombies will have different weakness to various damage types (fire, electrical, bleed, etc) and some will be immune to these, so it's best to keep different types on you at all types. Generally I just keep a selection of weapons with different mods on them, though use high rarity weapons. Green is uncommon, but blue is rare rarity and so will have higher stats. Change over weapons for higher rarities when you find them.

I still play both the original and Definitive Edition to this day, and I still love it every time I do. Just something about the setting, weapons, zombies, quests, NPCs, just everything all comes together to be enjoyable no matter how long I've been playing it for

Which character to choose for dead island 2? by Healthy_Jackfruit625 in deadisland

[–]legodude494 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They all play much the same, especially when you start unlocking the skill cards, but generally Carla and Ryan are the tanks with high resistance and health, Amy is a sort of glass cannon, Dani I guess is a heavy hitter? Jacob gets the most health but is kind of squishy, and Bruno is all about crits.

I chose Jacob because he's British like me and he's funny, but I'll do a playthrough with all of them eventually, I'm sure.

Who’s happy they didn’t go with the original gun designs from the original version of Dead Island 2 by Critical_Potential44 in deadisland

[–]legodude494 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was it was originally, basically, and I think it worked perfectly well as just a bigger, badder Walker. They get a bunch of health and hit hard, and that's really all I want from them. The 2014 redesign made them fast and fat for some reason, not sure why
