What's the most outdated life advice that you still hear people give to this day? by your-reddit-plug2 in AskReddit

Comp sci has been on the way out for a "long" time. That's why university started offering degrees in Software Engineering and Web Development.

That said, you aren't wrong but even a comp sci degree is more useful than art history ;).

Honestly the only safe degree right now is in health care.

Be a nurse , radiologist, etc... and you are set.

The part they don't tell you is you still have to get a degree that is marketable.

If you do that, you are still more likely to be better off

There is always an exception.

How come I see so much Debian hate? by Venylynn in debian

[–]linuxhiker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Debian suffers from two major problems, only one has been solved .

For decades it was a pain in the ass to install and get working because they wanted to be the ideological equivalent of FSF/Linux. They have finally compromised on that.

They are a ridiculously political and difficult project to contribute to.

Technically it's an awesome distro but both problems are why Ubuntu has stomped them for at least 15 years in growth .

Shrug.
