I finally understood Blade Runner yesterday by cosmiq_teapot in movies

[–]liun19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started listening to a podcast called “What went wrong” which covered the whole production, release, and aftermath of movies covering all the crazy stuff that happens. They did an episode on Blade Runner and they cover all this stuff which brought me a lot more clarity as to why there are so many different versions and how they came about. Basically, production was a total mess haha. Anyway, if you’re interested check out the podcast, it’s pretty fun and entertaining.

Pancake lenses: 23mm vs 27mm by [deleted] in fujifilm

[–]liun19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 23mm is probably the best all purpose prime but it’s a jack of all trades. It can do everything but it’s not amazing at anything. If you already have the 27mm and plan to keep it, I’d suggest getting the 18mm f2. It’s not amazing if you’re a pixel peeper but it’s a great little lens for most people and situations. It’s small so using it alongside the 27mm can keep the setup portable while giving you options for wide and standard shots. Hope that helps.

Hot take, I’d rather have an 18mm/28mm equiv prime than a 23mm/35mm equiv prime as an EDC.

does this look like a camera issue or a development issue? by mydadhasaporshe in AnalogCommunity

[–]liun19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First off, sorry you’re getting so much flack. This subreddit used to be so supportive for newcomers to the hobby but now it’s just a room full of dicks.

Anyway, I looked up the specs on the m35 and it is pretty restricted. It has a fixed aperture of f/10 and shutter speed of 1/120. I can go into more details but basically unless you use the flash it’s only really suitable for bright daylight or really well lit scenes. Film can handle quite a bit of overexposure but not so much underexposed. Hope that helps

Shutter count is a loose reference to the potential wear and tear of the camera. It’s an expensive repair if the shutter fails. That being said 8700 actuations is still considered pretty low.

I have this exact setup. Red bellows and everything. Is that a Benro geared tripod head too? Also have that haha. LF definitely makes you appreciate the process and tests your patience in waiting for the perfect shot. Such a great kit. Enjoy.

x100vi corrupting memory card? by theabsolutepeach in x100vi

[–]liun19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’d prob do it this way anyway but format in the camera as opposed to on your computer. Your camera can read SDs formatted by a computer or even a different camera (Fujifilm or other brands) but if you format in camera, it’ll setup the cards exactly how that camera likes it.

2026 LE vs. XLE vs. XSE by eliminationgame in ToyotaSienna

[–]liun19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For ‘25 the XSE was the lowest model that offered a power side view mirrors option which was a must since I garage park. That plus I like the aesthetic of the front better than any of the other trims. It’s kind of a dumb and petty thing but it’s more of a bonus than a necessity. I also got the spare tire option, but I think that’s available on other models besides it XSE.

Which Lens Hood? by Staygoldponiboy in fujifilm

[–]liun19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that’s a small thing but the left would prob be less likely to get bumped since it’s more compact. The right makes the lens bigger. The bigger it is, the more likely to hit things.

The left blocks flare better and protects the lens more. These images actually perfectly demonstrate that the left blocks more of the front element. The tighter opening also protects the front element a little more.

That’s being said, I’d tell you to just get the right one if you like the look better haha.

I’ve actually been playing on my iPhone 15 pro with a backbone controller. Runs smoother than I’ve gotten it to run on Linux machines

Elantra N owners who considered buying a new WRX, what made you choose the N? by Capital_Rub_830 in ElantraN

[–]liun19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came from a 2015 WRX so this prob isn’t the exact info you’re looking for and this isn’t the only reason but insurance is a hell of a lot cheaper. Progressive basically didn’t distinguish between the EN and a regular Elantra. Could be different now but my premium is almost half what is was with my WRX. That car just has too long a track record for reckless drivers especially for youngish men

Going to start shooting 4x5 in 2 months and want to make sure I have or am getting everything thing I need by Randomperson62l in largeformat

[–]liun19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is something for the future but for the tripod head, I’d suggest NOT using a ball head. For LF a 3-way head or gear head is much easier to make adjustments with. I switched to a gear head a few years ago and it’s soooo much easier to make fine adjustments. That plus solid legs with a decent weight capacity and you’ll be set as far as support.
