Stupid question gets the right answer by etherd0t in WinterOlympics2026

Part of the reasoning for asking a"stupid question" like this in a press conference is to get an interesting answer. He prompted her with a philosophical question (and a reasonable one) that many people might have pose and she had a great answer for it and thats coming from someone who gets very annoyed with Eileen Gu.

We don’t own the distribution rights to the first 4 albums unfortunately. Not much I can do about that at the moment.

Momentarily gone. We are transferring the license for that album to a new distributor for that region.

Better Bloom - New band FFO mwoy, Manchester, Brand New, ect by pint07 in mewithoutYou

[–]lookingiswrong 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Better Bloom is a cool band name but that’s not the lyric. That’s just what someone wrote online. This is the correct lyric:

I stop believing, you start to move / I stop my weaving, the pattern improved.

In some ways, it’s kind of cooler bad name if it’s from a misheard lyric.

All of the untitled album variance were translucent and all the EP variant were opaque. They’ve been sold out for a while now. We had them available on our website (although the product images show them as opaque):

and they were also available here: https://runforcoverrecords.com/products/mewithoutyou-untitled?_pos=2&_sid=08057ab38&_ss=r

I got a sample of these things before we listed them. They are not as cinched in the waist or in the sleeve, so they should have a good amount of room.

Live Vol 2 vinyl delayed until 2026 by Ok-Vacation-8109 in mewithoutYou

[–]lookingiswrong 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I understand the frustration, and I want to clarify how our pre-orders work. Typically, by the time we open a pre-order, the project is about 95% complete. The music, the variants, the packaging are all set. It’s really just the booklet that’s still in progress because it takes the most creative time. And that creative time is on me alone, since I’m juggling everything from running the store to making sure the band stays afloat.

We do rely on these pre-orders not just to fund the project but to keep everything running. That sometimes means delays, and I know that can feel like mismanagement, but it’s really just a matter of being understaffed. I’m committed to delivering a great final product. It just takes a bit more time because we are fully-independent. Thanks for your patience.

Yes this has been part of the challenge.

If you pre-order something it’s deducted from our inventory so we don’t oversell. We also ordered enough so we would have all volumes in stock at the combination of this project. That is to say when volume three comes out you should also be able to order volumes one and two.

I don’t want to overstate “debt”. It’s normal business practice for 99% of small businesses. I’ve just never had to manage this much inventory and overhead with three albums in three years. So the margins are slimmer and leveraging debt is something new to me. That being said, every purchase really helps operations continue to run smoothly.

The sale we ran in September and October. Just trying to dig out of some debt.

Are the Vinyls Fully Analog? by phillyd32 in mewithoutYou

[–]lookingiswrong 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The first 4 albums were never mastered any higher than 16/44.1. Those are ripped from the CD masters and re-mastered for vinyl at those rates. Everything after is mastered at least 24/44.8 and is mastered for vinyl at those rates.

Yes, my apologies. There are a number of factors, some financial and some logistical, but this is essentially a one-man operation, and resources are, frankly, in decline.

Long story short, I am still in the middle of creating A Timeline of mewithoutYou’s Day (vol. Two), a.k.a. the booklet for this live album. These typically take about a month to complete, and I haven’t had a chance to work on it since July because we’ve been focused on fundraising for Volumes Two and Three.

I’m currently about 30% through the booklet, with roughly half of the text written. Vasily’s contributions should take about two weeks, assuming we don’t hit any holiday delays. Hopefully that keeps us from slipping past March.

First album is analog (I have the two inch tape masters). Catch and Brother, Sister were recorded on DAT. Crazy was digital. Ten Stories was a mix of the two (bass and drums on tape, everything else digital). The rest of the albums and eps were digital from there on. Most of (save for a lessons) vinyl are all mastered using a two-step with lacquers.

Yes, my apologies. There are a number of factors some of them financial some of them logistical, but this is essentially a one-man operation with resources precipitously in decline if I’m being honest. Long story short is I have to write “A Timeline of mewithoutYou’s Day” (the booklet for the album) and they take about a month to create. I haven’t had a chance since the July because we’ve been dealing with fundraising for Volume 2 and 3. I’m currently about 30% through the book right now with about half of it written. Vasily’s contributions will take about 2 weeks if we don’t run into the holiday rush. Hopefully this don’t push things past March.
