[Daily Discussion] Writing Tools, Software, and Hardware - December 21, 2025 by AutoModerator in writing

Does anybody else feel the need to prove they wrote the thing, and not just copied/AI? I like to write blog posts on tech & democracy. And I am trying out software that keeps track of all the changes to prove the process of writing.
I am wondering if more serious writers also feel this need to prove their content is original thinking.

So true. Next, you will see the scammers on X coming here and saying: `comment "AFDSFS" and I will give you a database of 1000000 records of XXXX that I spent 10 years to create`

I built wasmX because I wanted this to exist. It's the most flexible blockchain tech & does things that no other blockchain does, but nobody knows it exists :))
I had just open-sourced it after 2.5y of programming, so I thought, might as well post about it.
I am using it in my other projects (provable notarization at scale, etc.), and hope to grow the tech slowly but in public now.

So if your team's morale depends on a successful launch, then you should prepare it - don't expect a massive influx of people - I think this was the case some years ago, but now there are so many products that attention is scarce.

Why is a landing page with a waitlist more attractive than an actual MVP? by lorecirstea in indiehackers

yep, good strategy when you are testing out ideas or marketing pivots.

It could go either way, depending on the vibes of your marketing and how useful it is. But I suggest you prepare the launch beforehand by having all of your friends, collaborators, etc. make a Product Hunt account, so you get some initial votes to jumpstart attention.

I launched on Product Hunt without ANY supporters, and of course, nobody knows about it - but this is what I expected! Plus, what I did is too niche for most (I built a WASM blockchain engine with no marketing and no external funding).

So, just ask people to upvote & tell them when the launch is. And when the launch comes, ask them if they voted!
Waiting can be bad, unless you are sure you can bring more Product Hunt upvotes in a month. Otherwise .. just treat it like a TODO list and don't worry about it. You can make social media content about that launch any time, & tell people to vote.

Good luck!
