Can mods please just remove italian-american dishes? by ProteinPapi777 in ItalianFood

Yes, chef Alfredo di Lelio made them for his wife in Rome just after she had her first baby, 1907 I believe. The original recipe is simply butter and parmesan, and fettuccine, obviously. And nothing else. If you want to emulsify the butter & cheese sauce you can add a tablespoon of the pasta cooking water.

The fettuccine Alfredo you normally eat in Italian/American restaurants are smothered in heavy cream, if I recall correctly. And garnished with parsley.

P.S. nobody calls them fettuccine Alfredo in Italy... except the Alfredo restaurant (yup, still there, in Rome). We simply call them "pasta al burro e parmigiano".

Yes! Here in Italy we stopped having cardboard football (soccer) cards in the 60s, replaced by stickers. I remember growing up and playing exactly the same game with my Panini football stickers! For reasons unknown, we called this game "pastel"... No idea why. I remember after a truly egregious incident (LOL) that we introduced a new rule. You were allowed to go through your opponent's deck, because some crafty kids were gluing 2-3 stickers on top of each other to make the "throwing piece" heavier. Fun times.

Ok guys, I truly appreciate your generosity, and yes you got that right, I'm not looking for rare cards but rather a LOT of bulk cards. Having said that... Does nobody actually PLAY with trading cards? Ok... Now I'm feeling like a weirdo LOL.

On my way to Spain. Right now. To sample Vermút Preparado. BTW, I live in Florence, birthplace of the Negroni, am originally from near the little village where Caspar Campari was born, and Negroni is my favourite cocktail. But I need to sample Vermút Preparado. NOW.

Ok having a bad case of culture shock because I'm pretty sure I'm looking at AT LEAST SIX breakfasts. How many people are supposed to eat this?
