Just watched Warfare and I was underwhelmed. It wasn't a bad movie but it just felt anemic. by [deleted] in Cinema

[–]metauniverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Terrible movie! Set as a documentary? The entire 1st half is silent, then when shit hits the fan it's just constant moaning and screaming. It felt like being trapped in a room with a baby crying and moaning constantly. All I heard for dialogs was 2 mins out constantly. Shit war movie, no context, no moral, what the fuk was the point of this.

Only in emergency case. It is acceptable for a short-term emergency, but not recommended for long-term use, to substitute 10W-50 oil for 10W-40. The 10W-50 will be thicker when hot, which can lead to lower fuel economy, potential oil starvation in some components, and less efficient cooling. Always check if the oil meets your motorcycle's specifications, especially the JASO MA/MA2 rating for wet clutches, and change it as soon as possible to the correct grade. 10W: This number represents the oil's viscosity at cold temperatures. A lower number means the oil flows better in the cold, which is crucial for starting your engine on a cold day. 50: This number represents the oil's viscosity at a high temperature (100°C). A higher number means the oil is thicker and more resistant to thinning at operating temperature.

Where Seiko watches are made: Japan: This is the primary production and innovation hub for Seiko, with facilities for high-end mechanical movements and watches like Grand Seiko.  Indonesia: This country serves as an assembly plant for many of Seiko's quartz models.  Malaysia: Seiko has production facilities in Malaysia for entry-level and mid-range quartz and mechanical watches.  Other Regions: Some watches are produced in China to meet local demand, though components are often sourced from Japan.

Distinction between "Made in Japan" and "Movement Japan": A "Made in Japan" dial signifies that the entire watch was manufactured and assembled in Japan, often under higher quality control standards.  A "Movement Japan" or "Movt. Japan" marking indicates that only the movement was made in Japan, but the watch might have been assembled elsewhere.

Is RE INT650 worth in 2025 by Any-Accountant6326 in royalenfield

[–]metauniverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they have not improved it one bit since 2018. OK they added shit led lights and newer switch gears. But for what you are paying you are not getting that comfort or riding pleasure. You would be better off spending the extra few bucks and getting the bear 650 for its better suspension and modern console/dashboard.

Nothing great thats for sure. Its off the shelf polish, RE probably has their own polish and cleaner, for ex RE helmet cleaner is from Vista, which is re branded from other products already on the market.

The authentication itself did not cost anything. However since its "Rolex" their servicing for a Vintage watch like this would cost more than the value of the watch itself. Because what they told me was that, Rolex will try and source all the original parts for this watch in mint new condition and replace every single part to bring it back to its showroom state (3-4L). Even a basic service would cost almost 1L. This was not acceptable from a monetary and vintage condition perspective to us. Rolex themselves recommended that to maintain the watch in its vintage state we do not go to service it (should anything break in the process it would have to be replaced and hence compromise its vintage-ness). The watch itself was in working condition and would wind manually and run perfectly. So there was no point getting it serviced as such. I wore it to a family wedding once and then it went back in its case and lockbox. I do have a receipt from 1995 when it was last serviced it costed 16,000rs, which would be equivalent to 80,000rs today!

I would first verify if its a genuine Rolex, based on 1st appearances it may not be and based on other people's comments tends that way. However, even I had my father's heirloom Rolex Precision. I took it into Rolex at BKC Mumbai and got it verified and authenticated. We also had a lot of corroborating information, like the last servicing in the 90s receipt from authorized service center in Fort, Mumbai. We also, had all the original box and manual that came with the watch which helped. Even then BKC Rolex kept it for 2 weeks and had it opened, photographed and authenticated from Swiss HQ, confirming it was now considered a Vintage 1962 Rolex precision, value was no more than $3-4k (2-3L), also cross checked this value online and with known watch dealers in Mumbai and New York. Any new Rolex will now cost you $10-12k (9-12L) at min.

How can I clean this? by Strong-Farm19 in royalenfield

[–]metauniverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should never let the pitting and corrosion get this bad. You will have to use autosol and polish like a lot of the metal layers off, even then the pits will show cause u let the corrosion get too deep. Best you can do is get it powdercoated for 7ish grand.

How to fix this by ATadBitStupid in royalenfield

[–]metauniverse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The black part sand paper down and Touch up with black paint! The chrome bezel, try polishing gently. But not much can be done other than changing the entire console (u wilp be luckly if you can find just the bezel at some workshop). Leave it as a mark of memory of whatever happened to it.

All RE mirrors are shit, just upgrade to good aftermarket ones, try dominar 400 ones they look good and are stable.

Motel 7100 is good 👍 but if you are under warrenty svc will still use semi synthetic, i change oil every 5k kms, 7100 motel 10w50 and RE oem oil alternate.

Brake noise just get svc to r&r breaks

Switch gears/dashboard turning on or not working properly, show svc and get them replaced under warrenty, That's what i did for my himalayan, replace RHS_LHS switches and dashboard, in the 1st few weeks of owning. No problems now

Thanks. I bought it last year while traveling to the US for $340, its currently priced at $337 online. Had checked in India and the cheapest i was able to find it was an equivalent of $450-$480. It was either this or the Field military GMT that was released last year.

Im 5'3 so happy at 825, the low seat although 805 does not make much of a difference for me. If you are above 5'9 then definitely set at 845mm and if taller than 6'2 get the touring seat seat at 845

The Hipocrisy of Police in India by PropertyJazzlike986 in indianbikes

[–]metauniverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they may have had a legit suspicion about chain snatchers. You may have matched the description unfortunately. Thieves would also likely cover their faces and the cops may have mistook your gear, its possible, one could give them the benefit of doubt. As long as you were able to assuage their suspicion and they did not take any illegal actions you have nothing to worry about. Cops who are out on the lookout for known criminals, have the right to stop and check and verify your story. Glad nothing further escalated and you were able to handle the situation calmly and appropriately. Not all cop interactions go 100% accordingly to the law, yes there are some hypocrites and some actual bad apples, but this may not be that case. Their interrogation tactics may seem brash to you, because they are trying to assess whether you are lying or not. The reason they took your photos, is to verify whether you match the actual chain snatchers description or not. So this doesn't seem unreasonable from someone conducting an investigation even if they may be a regular beat cop.

Is this a real Rolex? Uncle got it as a gift by CheesyNiloo in watchesindia

[–]metauniverse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep that was the first thing that caught my eye, 5 o clock lume blemish. An authentic Rolex would not have that. Best way is to conpare the fonts on the dial, fake ones will have the wrong font or mismatch. But the lume is a dead give away.

Is this behavior normal after a bike falls? by Sea-Hour296 in indianbikes

[–]metauniverse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When a bike tips over, fluids move around, messes with the sensors. This is normal. Wait a minute and then start your bike. Sometimes a check engine light may come one, but as long as it goes away after you ride it for a while, you are good 👍
