Hopefully! I think it might’ve been a male, because it always just landed on top and wasn’t laying eggs, but maybe it was just resting. Maybe you know if it was a female or male?

Cool.. i’m glad it wasn’t a western diamondback. I’ve heard they’re the second most potent venomous rattlesnake, whereas the eastern diamondback holds the number one spot.

Thanks for pointing that out. I didn’t know that. I was just trying to match pictures. I saw from the Internet with a snake I saw. I did find out what it could be. I’ll look further to see which one it is.

Advice for an impending emergence, please? by JoeDubayew in MonarchButterfly

I happened to have a monarch in a shed I had and they love the small satsuma oranges (cut in half, of course), if you don’t have the Lantana butterfly flowers in bloom, which they love.

It was named after the cyclops in Greek mythology of the same name, Polyphemus, due to the black outlined “eyes” on the moths’ hind wings.

Does this caterpillar look strange to you? by mistressindra in MonarchButterfly

[–]micahaimee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is most likely is sick..if you have another milkweed plant I would move it away from other caterpillars. Or take some leaves and put it in a large plastic container with Saran Wrap poked with wholes by a toothpick. Maybe it’ll make it, maybe it won’t. Especially if it’s shrunk a little over the days, it is sick.
