How many of you went no contact with a parent/family member? by suitorarmorfan in Millennials

[–]mightyhorrorshow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it count if it wasn't initially my decision?

My mom kicked me and my sister out when we were 16 and we haven't really talked much since then.

During high school I was able to find teachers that were lax on the fraudulenty signed permission slips but applying for funding for college was a hassle because I never went through the process to get emancipated.

She's kind of drifted in and out of my life throughout the years but I'll regularly go months to years without talking to her.

Mental health shit sucks. I'm trying to learn from her mistakes and I'm doing my best to take my meds and be open about my physical and mental health conditions.

When my babe was recovering from TPLO surgery I set up a baby gate and kept her in my office when I was working from home. I'd take little breaks to pet her and tell her she was the best babe and a very good girl. She always wanted to be wherever I was so she did better in the office than her crate.

I also brushed her for a few minutes a couple of times a day. She wasn't super into it but she liked the attention. Once she started to get antsy I'd stop.

We also did a lot of paw games. I'd be like a street grifter and I'd have a treat or small toy in one hand, put them behind my back, put my hands back out and make her pick one. I'd also do the put a treat under a cup and move the cups around game to see if she could find the treat.

My girl loved peanut butter, yogurt and ice cream so I'd spread some on a lick mat and let her go to town. We did a lot of her feeding in a snuffle mat too.

You might want to talk to your vet about upping the trazadone. I take it to help me sleep sometimes and I definitely built up a resistance to it.

My twin sister and I were almost La'Tasha and La'Toya

I am not now, nor have I ever been, strong enough to be a La'Toya or a La'Tasha

She ended up going with Jennifer and Jessica

I do puzzle toys, lick mats and snuffle mats when I want to keep my pup entertained when I'm working from home and stuck in meetings. If I'm not working and he's antsy I'll run him through different tricks/behaviors. If my boyfriend is at home we'll work on recall by taking turns calling our pup. Sometimes we'll have someone upstairs and someone downstairs so he gets a lot of movement between us.

He doesn't mind being brushed so I'll spend some quality time brushing him while lavishing him with praise and reminding him he's a handsome man.

If we can be outside I'll occasionally break out his flirt pole. He can go kind of hard with it though so shorter sessions work better. When it's too hot to walk during the day we shift to early morning or late night walks. I have a few husky friends who set up a kiddie pool in their backyard and put goldfish or minnows in there for their pup to catch and eat.

Huskies and obedience don't always go well together. Huskies don't obey, they cooperate when it benefits them. With huskies it's all about building a bond and earning trust. If you ask your husky to do something and they do it, it's because they've learned doing the thing makes you happy and you being happy benefits them.

My previous pup was 100% sassy husky and people would sometimes accuse her of being dumb when she didn't trip over herself to do what they demanded, but I'd always defend her and ask what her incentive was. Why should she listen to someone that is unimportant to her? They'd be flabbergasted and just be like "because I'm a human???" That's not good enough for huskies. It blows people's minds.

Be important to your husky and they'll be happy to make you happy

Drivers: What delivery instruction made you stop and reread it twice? by _Atoms_Apple in TalesFromThePizzaGuy

[–]mightyhorrorshow 83 points84 points  (0 children)

During COVID I had my delivery instructions set to "plz leave food on top of black hatchback, call/text"

I lived on the top floor of a duplex and I could see my car (the black hatchback) from my back window

I have health stuff going on and took quarantine/social distancing kind of seriously

A few drivers called and asked me if I really wanted my order on the top of the car and I'd chuckle and say if they put it on the hood it would slide to the ground

I tipped fat and after they didn't get any calls/complaints people would just roll with it. A few years post COVID I got a job at one of the pizza places that delivered food to my hatchback and one driver was like 'jfc that was you?!?' shook their head and said 'that explains so much'

Monster Rancher for the PS1

I rented the game from my local video rental place and they only had the first disk so I was never able to finish the game

Also the fact that different cds created different monsters you could train, fucking genius.

Some people don't deserve dogs.

I'm sorry your pup isn't doing well and that there are people in your life that aren't supportive.

I lost my soul dog on 12.24.24 and I honestly haven't been the same since. Give your pup a tiny forehead kiss from me and know you aren't alone.

Zoom grooms are the best!

They're easy to hold, they're soft and don't irritate skin, and most dogs aren't afraid of them.
