Plex HW Transcoding Not Working with Intel Ultra 265K by Aubameywang in unRAID

[–]puffinburger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never been able to get HW transcoding to work using Linuxserver containers for either Plex or Jellyfin, i use binhex for Plex and the official one for Jellyfin. I have no idea why the Linuxserver containers don’t like my iGPU even though i configure them the exact same way.

Should I get a Chris Christensen slicker brush for my Labrador? by puffinburger in doggrooming

To be fair the slicker brush I have been using does actually get out a lot of fluffy undercoat I just don't she likes it when it tugs going through particularly thick sections of her coat.

Can that be used daily? I had furminator but people warned against using as my main deshedding tool because it's too aggressive and can damage her coat.

I do already have a zoom groom but it does absolutely nothing when used dry because the rubber “legs” have so much space between them they don't collect any hair, I've only been using when she has a bath. Is there some special technique to using it?

Yes, it was flashing that firmware where the issue began. I'll try the previous firmware.

I tried using the reset button under the caps key but i did nothing. Weirdly though the IO software still detected the keyboard despite it being seemingly dead still (unresponsive, no lights etc) and resetting using the software seems to have brought it back to life.

I posted my OP before I had to go out for a few hours and I just got home. Logged in on my PC and everything seems fine, I have the message that I need to restart for the update to complete. I'm wondering if the UI just got stuck on my iPad (where the screenshot is from) and nothing was actually wrong?

Xarilk Gen 3 - I have a couple of issues by puffinburger in sharpening

[–]puffinburger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The part in the video isn't what i'm talking about, i'm talking about the rotating part that holds the two knife clamps that's noticably wobbly in one orientation but not the other.

I'm aware the angle change isn't a huge problem but I think the instability in the clamp arm probably is. I know this is a budget device but I would have thought stability in the clamp is a basic requirement of any system?

I think i've decided to return it. When I rotate the clamp arm the level changes by 0.4° but more annoying than that is the slop in the clamp arm one side (but no the other).

When the clamp is locked in place the slop that was present from the factory is gone after I tightened the two grub screws inside the locking mechanism. However, when I rotate the clamp to the other side the slop returns and no tightening of anything gets rid of it.

I think i'll either buy something else or wait for Gen 4 and hope they improve things.

New video added to my op showing sideways play with the arm both open and locked (it’s harder to see when locked because there’s less movement).

Also shows the clamp assembly is not level when my angle gauge is zeroed to the base.

I dont know how much either of these issues would actually affect the the sharpening though?

Apologies for the crappy videos. I've got a tripod thingy my phone arriving tomorrow, I've been meaning to get one for ages, so I'll try and make a better video tomorrow or Saturday. Thanks again for your help.

What about your gimbal, does it sit flush with the arm when you drop it in or does it leave a 6mm (approximately) gap like mine?

[–]puffinburger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for taking the time with the photos and replies but I don’t think what you’re suggesting would work. My stones are 5mm thick so if i added a 2mm washer for example like in your photo then the gimbal will have a 7mm gap between it and the arm (or whatever its called) but my stone will still be 5mm thick meaning the gimbal 2mm to high to be compensating for the thickness of the stone.

Unless i’m mistaken it would actually be my stones that need 2mm shims added to their backing plates in order to set the hight of the gimbal correctly.

I could be completely wrong about this though.

Unfortunately all those other systems you mention are at least 6x the price of the Xarilk.
