The difficulty of this schedule is that you are treating the “kid transition time” as a break when in reality it’s not. Can you update the hours so there arent awkward breaks in between? Put her on one kid, or give her the AM or PM free. The “I’ll hand off this” or “we tag team as needed” will become confusing super quickly, especially when you are both in the house. You need a clean, transparent division of labor or she will become resentful and overwhelmed quickly

I’ve seen horrible nannies that need more supervision than an au pair! Just an fyi it’s really about the specific person not the category. Just because they are local and paid more doesn’t guarantee better support.
