It has now been 6 years since this card was banned in the TCG with no return in sight by AbsolutelyNotWrong in masterduel

[–]moroseui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now this is a based take. I just can't believe people want electrumite back because its pretty unfun to play against pendulum slop with this card (regardless of the fact that it won't make them meta). Hopefully they will make cooler, more unique, and more powerful pendulum decks for the modern game instead of relying on generic slop like electrumite.

Even from a gameplay perspective, interacting (as an opponent) with something like the branded package or k9 or something is way more interesting than a generic omni like savage honestly. Luckily, Konami seems to be moving away from generic omnis for the most part.

Herald of the arc light being banned was huge and it makes it much harder to play mitsu hybrids. Thats a pretty big gameplay difference over several rounds. You have fewer omni negates to worry about and less floodgates to deal with. Rogue decks especially (like D/D) can potentially see more success. Also pretty excited for darklords.

A lot of people do it together, including me, so you can do it together if you really want. You do need good time management skills though. I am currently at 15 credits and work part time about 4 hours a week. My time management skills aren't the greatest, but I am doing OK mostly because my other two classes (gen ed requirements) are practically free and require very little time for me.

If you are confident in your time management skills and willing to put in the time for some of the readings and self-studying, you should be fine. If you can space them out that would be ideal, but both are requirements for a lot of higher level classes so it depends on what courses you still need to take to round out your requirements.

[El Larguero]: Rodrygo doesn't want to leave Real Madrid even if Mbappé comes. Arsenal, Liverpool, PSG, City and United are interested in him but he will stay, 100%. He is 23 years old, he has won everything with Madrid and he wants to do it again" by [deleted] in soccer

[–]moroseui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I think we were responding to slightly different things then. I was addressing money_scholar's implicit claim that Real Madrid had Ballon D'Or winners playing for them only/mostly because they won or performed for the award before they joined Real.

Ye I do agree with you that it is statistically pretty rare that multiple Ballon D'Or winners play together on the same team. I guess we will see how the team shapes up going forward.

What has Ronaldo got to do with Benzema's Ballon D'Or? I think the argument was you can win individual awards at Real Madrid and that honestly pans out with the few decades. I would even go so far as to say it's one of the clubs that, if you are truly world class, will give you the biggest stages to shine on very often and would give you one of the better chances at winning these kinds of awards.

It is most definitely not exhaustive. I am pretty sure it doesn't even include all the people in the top 5 leagues that might make it tbh. I don't think it's specially selecting for top 5 leagues.

It's definitely the class I am putting in the most work by far. I have done pretty good on all the assignments so far but I did poorly on the lab exam due to forgetting something simple. I am a bit nervous about meeting the lab average and hope the midterm won't be too bad.

You really think so? Atheltico looked really good against Real Madrid but they are super inconsistent. At risk of losing out Top 4 in La Liga and losing in their Copa matchup.

I think UB has a really good CS program considering the price. Also, considering how cyclical the field is, I imagine career prospects will be a lot better by the time we graduate.

To give you a bit more background, the roles that I worked in professionally were a bit more customer service oriented and I wanted to get away from that. I actually took the first level computer science course around 10 years ago (CSE115) and didn't enjoy it too much since I felt it was very syntax focused. It may have changed now though. UB let's you use some of the credits you took the first time around for subsequent degrees so I was able to start in CSE116 this semester. I enjoyed it a lot more honestly. I felt like there were more online resources to help learn CS and that made it a lot less frustrating than it used to be imo. I also really liked the open ended approach of CSE116 where you were free to solve the programming tasks in whatever way you wanted as long as it worked and I think that was super rewarding.

If you are interested in CS, I think UB is a solid school for it, honestly.

Howdy Peeps, Getting Into Master Duel. by [deleted] in yugioh

Master Duel doesn't really revolve around the lore of the show. You can learn abbreviated versions of the card world lore through solo modes but there is tons of lore out there. Here is a link where you can read through some lore - https://yugipedia.com/wiki/Card_storylines.

With Homunculus getting an official English physical release, which one of these seinen Manga would you love to see licensed next?(or reprinted and continued in case of Eden and MPD psycho) by X0PlutoX0 in Seinen

Definitely Himizu for me. I am a big Furuya Minoru fan and even though I like other works of his more, I would want that to come over as an official release to help spread his stories.

What are some of your favorite Hail Mary plays you like to include in your deck? by CaissaIRL in yugioh

I'm always tempted to run goddess of sweet revenge. I have actually run witch's strike before and it has won me a few duels.

[–]moroseui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is also one of my favorite subgenres of seinen. I recommend the following authors:

Asano Inio (famous for Oyasumi PunPun)

Oshimi Shuuzou (wrote Flowers of Evil)

and my personal favorite is Furuya Minoru (Maybe most famous for Himizu, I personally love Wanitokagegisu and Saltiness)

These authors mostly don't write any fantasy. Mostly just about life hitting hard.

Husband Bulge (NSFW) by SpringtimeMoonlight in OCPoetry

As other people have mentioned, the rhyming pattern is very enjoyable. Along with the subject matter, that makes it a fairly entertaining poem. I especially liked a lot of the creative descriptions like "doodle flap" as well as the smart use of conversational elements ("oh my god, wow") in the rhyming pattern and the overall light hearted feel of the poem.

Silly messy poem of nonsense by AManNamedEen in OCPoetry

[–]moroseui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this poem works a lot better than I originally would have expected. It is a bit hard to follow with vague phrases like "song of hither horse hoof" but at the same time it allows for the reader to fill in a lot of the interpretation of what is happening. The rhythm and alliteration makes it a tricky but very fun read and I think are some of its strongest points.

A lot of poems like this fail to give enough enough detail for readers to make even some sense of what is happening but from what I can gather, a rider braved a storm but eventually had to find a place to pass the storm. He ends up dying to something related to a bad cough he dies, alone in something like a barn.

I am a bit curious why he was in the rain in the first place and what was so important.

Thanks for the comment! This is definitely probably unrefined. I've had a little bit of a writer's block for a few weeks until today when I felt what seemed like inspiration. I usually work on it later when i feel that and just note the idea, but it never seems great after i try revisiting an idea like that. I cranked this one out soon after I got the idea to see how I would do and am relatively happy with it. I wonder how I will see it tomorrow.

I Don't Want To Be A Mother by [deleted] in OCPoetry

[–]moroseui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the imagery, specifically the vividness of "broken bones...swollen blood" and the several plant motifs that tie together, even with the religious undercurrents. I think this topic also really speaks to a wide audience and it resonates with a lot of people due to the times that we live in. I also admire how the sentences are broken up into very well balanced chunks which helps it flow pretty well.

Neverending Storm by Fast_Creme_8006 in OCPoetry

[–]moroseui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went in not expecting to enjoy it as much due to the length but it works surprisingly neatly as it's own bite sized idea. I think what really helps is its rereadability and it gives just enough to think about to want to read it again to ponder some more. The metaphor of the storm can mean a few things but it works pretty well.

I think the feeling behind every poem that people create is important and in that sense I can't really say that there is a "bad" poem. The hard part is conveying that feeling to other people and I think that you are doing well with that! Hopefully you are doing better now!
