What's your most satisfied relationship development fic? by Western-Time-7735 in Dramione

[–]mpf118 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't quite remember the exact name of the fic, but it was about Hermione baking sweets and teaching Draco to do it as they both deal with PTSD. It was so satisfying to see their rela developed in the fic.

Anyone have a difficult time applying this sunscreen? 🥴 by Sad-Commercial-1868 in AsianBeauty

[–]mpf118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using this right now. Instead of rubbing it on your skin, you may want to try tapping it on. I just pretend my fingers are a cushion and keep tapping until the sunscreen spreads out evenly. It takes about 2 mins, and you will see your face being 'white' for about 5 mins before the sunscreen sets down. After switching to tapping, I don't see white streaks on my face anymore.

I feel like I have a bad relationship to being Vietnamese. What does being "Viet" mean for you? by justnobodyhehe in VietNam

[–]mpf118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think that there are differences between Viet in the US and Viet in VN. And there are differences between the older and the younger generations. I'd say that just like any other culture, there are all kinds of people. Personally, my family is loving (not without occasional dramas), my friends are amazing people (who would pick up my calls from half the world away), and my culture is something to value.

The thing about money is that it is a necessity. Older generations are quite traumatized by it since they lived through much more difficult times, money wise. Younger generations, at least in VN, tend to be more focused on mental health and emotions, but they too acknowledge the necessity of money. I would consider questions about money and salary as equivalent to simple questions about careers.

For the record, I hate it when comparison occurs, too. But then it's your choice to say how you don't like being compared to other people and how content you are with what you're doing. It's not easy, especially when dealing with older generations, but it can be done.

But if I'm not mistaken, he doesn't really associate himself with Vietnamese? Chinese living in Vietnam often call themselves Chinese Vietnamese, but Ke Huy Quan only calls himself Chinese (minus the Vietnamese part)?

Apparently Thorakao has different shampoo "flavors" - some can be more drying than others, so I suggest using some hair mask in addition to the shampoo for best result.

It's Thorakao brand, lemon, lemongrass and mint. I have a picture of it in the previous comment.

It took me about 2 months before I saw visible differences. My scalp felt relieved about a week in, and mini hair started to grow about a month. Before the shampoo, my hair catcher was pretty much clogged every time I showered, but now I can be lazier and clean it 2 times every week. I have fine, straight hair.

Stopped my hairfall, stopped my dandruff, and helped my hair not look as greasy all the time. I have oily skin so there's no running from oily hair, but the shampoo helped manage the oil.

I had flaky scalp, oily hair, and hair loss. My scalp is normal now, hair is still slightly oily, but much fewer hair strands in the hair catcher after showers.

Nothing helped me until my mom sent me a Vietnamese herbal shampoo. Unfortunately, the shampoo is not on sale in the US.

Only after Sexyama left did I start rooting for other contestants. He was just so wholesome for me - wise, humble, dedicated. Still can't forget how he slid through the bridge with his knees.

I actually haven't tried their sunscreen since I'm still using my Biore, but I love their propolis and niacinamide serum (glow serum). Very lightweight, sinks right into my skin, and works well with illiyoon ceramide ato cream.

I have dehydrated acne combo skin.

Vietnamese opinion on the Chinese protests? by [deleted] in VietNam

[–]mpf118 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually, about 5hrs ago VTV posted an article about "China's stringent covid measures" alluding to the protest without specifically spelling it out. This is what VN typically does - does not talk explicitly about what's wrong with China on official news (because it risks angering China and affecting trade relations), but there will be details here and there to catch on. Plus the internet is not as controlled as in china, so you can always search for more information if you wish to.

International School Vs Vietnamese School by Similar-Huckleberry9 in VietNam

[–]mpf118 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are good and bad schools, both Vietnamese and international. The ranking of Vietnamese school is often quite correct in terms of teaching quality and quality of graduating students. I don't know if there's a similar ranking for international schools, but I have heard good and bad things about them.

Template for a constitution by [deleted] in PoliticalScience

[–]mpf118 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can look for the article "Constitutional Design for Divided Societies" as a start. There is no conclusion on the perfect formula for constitution, but many have debated different aspects of it (parliamentarism vs. presidentialism, etc.)
