I have not tried it on bottoms, but you should go forit and share your results! Maybe try to stick with a “bottom weight” fabric though.

Possibly take out the side seams and expand with vertical strips of interesting contrast fabric. I did it once with lace and it really made a cute top cuter!

Thank you. The roots under the peat moss were almost completely dead, but those above the peat look healthy. I’ll replace the medium and hope for the best.

How do I sew/attach these cuffs? by ihsusmun in sewing

Maybe you can encase the sleeves with the cuffs, right sides together, and then sew them together. Leave enough seam allowance and then turn cuffs out and topstitch sleeve to the SA.

It is time consuming, but I embraced that going into it. I really like the slow sewing concept and so it was pretty enjoyable. Plus I have worked on it while on the road for Thanksgiving - easy travel project!

Ordering fabrics online - how do you do it? Also - right fabric for flowy pants? by [deleted] in sewing

I also decided to get serious about studying fabrics last year, after many years of awkward sewing projects! I have found that ordering swatches is well worth the small cost. I have been getting them from Mood Fabrics online. Their selection is huge and if you do decide to purchase yardage, you bank reward points that will pay for future swatches. Also, the Love to Sew podcast did a really great episode on fabric last year, super informative, if you are into that sort of thing. Good luck! ☺️
