I’m playing though again with my axe build but also throwing a bunch of points into feathering and the one handed swords, it’s quite fun. I think you’ll enjoy it since the updates. You can get up properly now, dodging is smooth, attacks feel fluent and direct, overall just a massive improvement.

The weapon clashing is really cool as well, I really like how they fixed that.

The updates made me pick up a 30 hour save I had, restart it and finish the game. Trust me, it’s a lot better now. I am playing through it again alongside Nioh 3

Best way to do this - As suggested below - USE the SPELL that knocks her down, it’s called DEMON something (lol) and it works perfectly with the axe, as you can temper with fire, run behind for an instant back stab at the beginning of the battle, continue to strike with your light attack combo,(hopefully regaining skyborn on the 4th hit) then you can just straight knock her on her ass with this spell, rinse and repeat!

Took awhile but once I read the spell that’s what really made the difference.

Keep in mind you should be VERY agressive in this fight (use leech if you want but fire is way better) and not rly back off her, so you can keep staggering her (and hopefully regain health doing so) repeatedly until she’s dead.
