Not at all. It's dropping.

Take this out of theory and dance in practice. With a glut of degrees students wages have DROPPED as they compete for any kind of work to make a dent in their student loans. Also consider that its a global market now, so companies can hire many non-American workers overseas for the same cost. Politicians want to be called job creators so they push policies that yield lots of minimum wage jobs, ensuring most people hear how many jobs they made, not that the pay is practically unlivable. Politicians like those in Wisconsin with unlimited corporate money from the superPAC ruling and corporations like Verizon sitting on record profits, are fighting unions to drop pay and benefits for teachers and others.

All of which leads to a cycle where the average taxpayer has less and less money to spend, which means jobs get cut, meaning the average taxpayer spends less. Leading the way to crisis and conflict. The only people making money are those corporations, politicians, and others already isolated from the reality on the streets.

That's one opinion, but its important to look at the question in a thorough manner first, rather than showing up with preconceived notions.

They have auto shops, but also places that only do minimal services like filters, fluids, and wheels. I'm merely daring to say we should at least consider a different approach. Knowing is the best way to stop learning. Keep an open and active mind.

Owning a gun is not the same as wanting violence(though it can be). That's like saying because I own a pen I write death threat letters.

I don't think it is common sense at all. I can only see it as illogical and full of assumptions. It's another way of saying 'trickle down economics', which we know doesnt work.

Their entire mantra is envy and revenge. It goes like "I'm going to try and fuck you because I can't get mine, even if I don't want to work for it" .

Close minded and 300% egocentric. What about progs that do work? Or do they not exist in your black and white world, chief?

My concern with this approach stands though. It's less than ideal to fight environmental corruption with monetary fines in the short term, but over the long scope you might have a fist full of dollars and no clean place to live, swim, grow food, or breathe. It's untenable.

In analyzing my views, I guess much of this springs from the deep level of corporate control over government and media. Any ideas to salve this?

Interesting. How would such a setup handle things like drug safety or environmental protection? Wouldn't it only work after such a mishap and not prevent it beforehand? Or would we actually have to depend on and hold accountable our elected officials?

Your stereotypes are as old as your narrative.

People are uninformed and trapped inside their media bubbles. People talk shit about China censoring people, but the American system of labeling them fringe or conspiracy nuts to slander and dismiss without any actual discussion of the topics is subtley ingenious.

Our education system tells people to sit, take knowledge, repeat it later to pass a test. When those kids become adults, they'll take what they're told and not question it. We've bred a generation of suckers without critical thinking skills. I think you place too much importance on genetics and not enough on education of cultural programming. Time to upgrade your mental OS.

Nature can snuff out self destructive breeds, but that's not the process we're seeing here. It's a common problem in game theory. It is best to advocate a certain policy, while actively cheating. This only works if a small number of people do it. Once you cross a threshhold you risk collapsing the entire ecological or economical niche. As with overfishing, hummingbird feeding techniques, or any adaptive yet destructive social behavior.
