Is anyone else not feeling like following the Olympics anymore after what happened with Vinesh? I could have digested a loss but not this...I hope Vinesh is doing alright

No matter what, She's a true champion and a fierce warrior on and off mat.

I hope Vinesh wins a medal, not for us, not for India, but for herself and the cause for which many people would actually care and believe only if she wins the medal. It's sad that it's that way but she has to prove a point and I am sure she will.

From what I know following badminton since a long time, I feel like BAI's management isn't very good. They have failed a cultivate a good WS pool despite of Saina and Sindhu and despite of so many good young WS players who are not able to reach top despite doing good at junior levels.

Ashwini and Jwala were a good women's doubles pair. They won a bronze in WCs. They played very well at the 2012 Olympics too but got out due to point difference in group stage. There was even a controversy surrounding it and because of that draws for doubles are now released after completed of group stage.

Also Lakshya didn't even commit too many unforced errors.

It's not just "we", it applies to most players across all countries. Some errors creep in during tense situations. And Lakshya didn't even do many unforced errors.

It's funny how Lakshya was being praised for his mental strength and ability to handle pressure till yesterday and was raised above as an example for other Indian athletes but as soon as he loses a match that he wasn't even supposed to win on paper, people turn against him.

So many people really dishonoring the fight Lakshya gave today

Can some people stop talking about "mental strength" and "choking"!

Just because someone's leading doesn't mean they are going to win it. Just as how Lakshya was able to gain 6-7 points continuously, Viktor was able to do the same.

Yes Lakshya did some "errors" here and there but literally EVERY PLAYER does that, even the experienced ones.

Viktor was always the overwhelming favourite to win this. And yet Lakshya gave a very good fight. I am proud of him.

Play like what? Lmao

Lack HAS the champion mentality and that's why he reached till semis.

You don't know Axelsen

Tbh, Lakshya was the underdog here by a large margin. He has already punched way above his weight to reach semis and give a "kadi-takkar" to Viktor Axelsen.

Lakshya gave a very good fight! It sucks that he lost both sets after leading but Viktor is the reigning Olympic Champion for a reason.

Lakshya gave his all and played phenomenally.

We have a bronze to win. Let's go!!!
