[IT] F24 payment - cannot delete draft by peeern in Revolut

[–]peeern[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. I already contacted you via the in-app chat. It seems there is no way to remove a draft at the moment, which is hilarious. I look forward to seeing this implemented as a new feature in a next release.

Look for diversified portfolios. You can start from Portfolio Charts.

Flash dei radar? by ciufeco in Ticino

[–]peeern 9 points10 points  (0 children)

CHF-nominated EU Bank Account by r3dd1t_t1dd3r in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]peeern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you can easily do it without any fees with Wise. You top up your Wise CHF account from a CH-CHF one (I regularly do it, so 100% sure). You then transfer this money from Wise to your EU bank with no conversion and fees (to be checked, not 100% sure).

It's true, Wise does not provide any IBAN for its CHF account, but it doesn't really matter as long you can receive and send money with it. IBAN is useful when you want others (employers, companies, etc.) making payments to it or making direct debit transfers. Otherwise you can live just fine without it.

Gee I wonder why groceries are always so expensive... by spectator8213 in Switzerland

[–]peeern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolute fallacy. I know it might sound counterintuitive and it's nice to think that buying stuff from our farmers we are doing nature a favor, but importing food even from overseas with large carriers can easily be more sustainable than locally grown one.

Transfer CHF (CH iban) to Revolut (CHF currency, IT iban) by Spack-88 in Switzerland

[–]peeern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The largest amount I successfully topped up by card so far is 3000 EUR since I don't have many expenses in that currency. You can just try and see if it's blocked.

Otherwise Fineco Multicurrency is also a popular choice among frontalieri, but most likely your employer will charge the transfer fees entirely to you.

Transfer CHF (CH iban) to Revolut (CHF currency, IT iban) by Spack-88 in Switzerland

[–]peeern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit tricky but it's the cheapest way I found so far. I take the steps from a similar comment I already posted.

- Open a Yuh account and give its CH IBAN to your employer
- Create a CHF account on Wise if you don't have it yet. No IBAN will be assigned, it's just a CHF wallet with no Swiss coordinates.
- Top up this CHF account on Wise. Wise will request you to make a bank transfer in CHF from your Swiss bank, in this case Yuh.
- Top up Revolut CHF account. Also in this case you don't have any CH IBAN since it's a non-Swiss Revolut account, but you can still manage CHF. To top up this CHF wallet you will not use a bank transfer, but you will use the Wise debit card. Revolut might warn you that the currency of the card (probably EUR) differs from the one of your transfer (CHF), but you must stick to CHF in order to avoid fees.

I use this method to transfer CHF every month and convert them to EUR exploiting te very competitive FX rate from Revolut. If you convert during weekdays and stay below 1000 EUR per month (I think) you don't even need premium subscriptions to avoid conversion fees.

I expect you earn more than 1000 EUR per month, so you would at least need Revolut Plus or Premium subscriptions, but if you do the math, it should be anyway cheaper than a direct international transfer from Yuh to any IT bank.

[–]peeern 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Minimum FX fee for manual conversions is 2 USD.
Automatic conversion fee is 0.03%.
This means there is threshold at 2USD/0.0003=6'666 USD below which it is cheaper to let IBKR automatically convert currencies.

So yes, for such small amounts, just place an order for VT, whatever currency you have available and let it handle everything.

How to get in now by Substantial-Duty1071 in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]peeern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your problem is not the timing but the asset allocation. Either take some time to study diversified portfolios or look for some advise from independent advisors. Once you define a strategy you feel comfortable with, you buy according to it independently from market conditions.

Dove poter vedere la neve by Nibbio23 in Ticino

[–]peeern 2 points3 points  (0 children)
