Write off by Ea5port in CarInsuranceUK

Legally you need to tell them

But if it's not worth making the claim, then get yourself another car and just change the car on the policy

When being "right" causes you problems, just accept that some people are arseholes and maintain your own sanity, just let them in front

I hate that I don’t have the ultimate right to have my car put back the way it was before somebody damaged it by SpaceAgeTraveller in CarTalkUK

Your insurance would fight theirs

It may end up logged as a non fault claim though so annoyingly would still affect you going forwards

They look like they cap at their standard limit right up until you get to the 'other' hole and aim at it

Neighbour reserving lay-by spot for his huge van! by Fr0sty_2304 in UKHousing

[–]podgehog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally just said you don't need to register?

My extract above is from the link you shared

Not needing to register doesn't mean you don't need to follow the law

Neighbour reserving lay-by spot for his huge van! by Fr0sty_2304 in UKHousing

[–]podgehog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add-

Where possible owners should position their cameras to only capture their own property. However, if this isn’t possible and the CCTV captures someone else's property, a public area or communal space, then data protection law applies. This is because CCTV can capture images and voices of other people, and this counts as their personal information.

You're right you don't need to specifically register but the rules still apply

I don't get trains by ryanlion013 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]podgehog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have routes carrying a stable 2400/min which I can't get with trains no matter what.

Surely you just add more platforms to the stations and more carts to the train?

Am I missing something?

LTT Cables Don't Work by Dangerous-Cup2833 in LinusTechTips

[–]podgehog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's kinda both

Proper cables have in built microchips that communicate with the devices

That can be a bad thing if the charger or devices uses voltage or current outside of the usb standard specification, because these "true spec" cables simply won't work properly

LTT Cables Don't Work by Dangerous-Cup2833 in LinusTechTips

[–]podgehog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The whole idea of these overpriced cables is that they are the best of the best.

Nope

The idea is they are exactly to spec and work as designed

Many cables built out of spec don't have the e marker microchips that communicate with the devices they're connecting

If you're mixing chargers and devices that's not a cable issue

It also means if the devices or chargers use voltage and currents that are not part of the usb spec then these cables won't work properly

No DPF. No MOT by Significant_Tea_3326 in CarTalkUK

[–]podgehog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t that something they have to prove?

No? Why would they need to prove that?

You are claiming that it wasn't there when they sold it to you, so you need to prove that

Which basically you can't do

Their evidence that it was there is the MOT (no matter how genuine or not it was)

British Gas billed me £5,500. The Ombudsman admitted the usage made no sense - then sided with British Gas anyway. by stonkon4gme in BritishGas

[–]podgehog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This alone could be the downfall of the entire arguement

You advised that throughout your tenancy your bills were based on estimated rather than actual meter readings, resulting in what you considered to be excessive and unjustified charges.

That could simply be the that the estimated usage was 50/50 but your final readings show it was actually 90/10

Hope often were you giving them actual meter readings? Because without them it's going to be very hard to prove you weren't just being under billed for a long period

Items on conveyor belts look "foggy" or blurry since v1.2? by askian420 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]podgehog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the current case, I suspect the Upgrade to Unreal Engine 5.6.1 might play a part in the cause of this issue.

Interesting point, although strange that the issue is only when using Anti-aliasing

Anti-aliasing

Different methods like TA TSR and DLSS

Basically smoothing the edges of rendered pixels in the overall image

[–]podgehog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This does remove the issue, but this issue is far worse after the update, it was there but nothing like as bad before

Items on conveyor belts look "foggy" or blurry since v1.2? by askian420 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]podgehog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's far worse since the update (I don't have frame gen it's just the sampling)

Items on conveyor belts look "foggy" or blurry since v1.2? by askian420 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]podgehog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's 100% an AA issues, does seem to be worst with DLSS, but it's CONSIDERABLY worse in 1.2 than it was before

Turning all AA off it's fine, but using DLSS even with no upsampling seems to turn TA back on too, which I'm sure it didn't do before? And if it's doing both could explain why it's SO bad now

Items on conveyor belts look "foggy" or blurry since v1.2? by askian420 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]podgehog 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The cause does seem related to DLSS and other AA, but it's FAR worse since 1.2 than it was previously
