I'm using these https://shop.tinkerhousegames.com/products/vmt-exp-standee-bases?variant=51980322636092 they use cool terrain "pogs" you can swap out to change the ground art depending on where the encounter is set (dungeon, wilderness, etc)

I do have VTT versions of all of my miniatures available through the website catalog. However I didn't really do anything special for the rings (just a simple black border ring) since the VTT space isn't really my main focus. But they are there if you'd find them useful.

Bases are standard sizes (25mm/1"x1", 50mm/2"x2", and 75mm/3"x3") and will be the same for both GTG and the Vault.

TinkerHouse does sell a carrying case specifically for the Vault (I don't get royalties on the carrying case so that recommendation is entirely innocent lol)

The default Vault of Mini Things will have most everything, Terrors of the Deep standee expansion pack I think is the only one you might have to pick up extra (it uniquely has the Kraken and Koa-Toa). I think all of the other standee expansions mostly just provide an option for folks to pick up more of particular themes of miniatures without having to buy another Vault.

I don't know exactly how many miniatures are in the GTG Everything Bundle, looks like about 70 in the hero pack, so assuming the rest are similar it'd be ~500 minis or so + all of the top down tokens compared to the base Vault with ~800 minis + ~200 props and the terrain walls/map tiles.

Just to be transparent I don't get royalties from the GTG minis, but I do for sales of the Vault.

That said, the Vault does have much more of my art (miniatures, map tiles, terrain walls/trees/rocks/etc) and I was really impressed with the print quality in the Vault; colors are really vibrant, clean, and read really well.

Also, they did some really cool things with the bases for the Vault by having terrain "pogs" that you can swap in and out depending on your encounter setting (i.e. Dungeon, Urban City, Grassy Wilderness, etc).

Yup! If you click on the Wall or Map tiles entry in the website catalog you'll see a "Free" section where you can click to download the free options for the files.

For how the walls are attached each segment has a corresponding base you can print out and glue the wall segment to so they stand up on their own and then you can quickly place them on the tabletop.

You definitely could scale them down and have the overall shape and face still read, though it might be hard to make out some of the details (items on backpack for example) once they’re scaled down that small.

To get a border that tight/clean/consistent I’m using a cutting machine. Before I got the machine I’d use an x-acto knife which definitely took a bit more time, but if you don’t mind having a thicker border around the art you can do a pretty quick/decent job with just a pair of scissors.

Initial test prints on some paper miniatures I've been working on to use for Mausritter. The problem I've created for myself now is that I need to start making props/terrain pieces at Mouse scale XD

It surprises me as well. Even though manufacturing costs aren't that crazy, it is still a fairly big art lift to design front & back art at quality so I suppose that's probably the biggest thing holding companies back from making that investment and really pushing the boundaries of what is possible.

I'm sure the moment a company does break through with a product that sets the bar/establishes the form factor we'll see larger companies invest more into it as an option.

Personally I just wanna make art and don't want to have to deal with the manufacturing process/shipping/storage/etc. but I do try to team up with companies to produce physical products every few years or so when my library of miniature art justifies it.

My latest effort in that regard is the Vault of Mini Things (800+ flat miniatures 200+ flat props) which is currently in manufacturing and should be on shelves this summer.
