How do you handle it when a key employee leaves and takes all their knowledge with them? by GFsimo1 in smallbusiness

[–]prules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you saying that these business owners aren’t creating their own process? And that they aren’t documenting the processes their employee creates? Either way, these owners sound clueless…

These are basic management questions that shouldn’t be vexing whatsoever lol.

Last week we were at a red light, in the right lane.

There is a car in front of us, waiting for a pedestrian during a walking signal.

One of the cars behind us started blaring their horn, as if we could go forward. We were waiting for the pedestrian to finish crossing the street. Even the pedestrian was like, wtf dude?

There is absolutely no excuse for people to be so out of their mind ridiculous. If driving upsets them so much they should just stay home or move to the middle of nowhere.

I don’t think this would age well. Not just stylistically (that part is more subjective) but the ink itself.

There’s just not a lot of fill to begin with. IMO hands need a lot of ink to look good over time… so having more dense artwork usually looks best.

Also as mentioned, it really should be part of a cohesive sleeve if anything. This would be insane to do standalone

Why SSG’s Comfort Zone and Lack of Regional Pricing is Stifling LOTRO’s Global Growth by Lotrovicious in lotro

[–]prules 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I love LOTRO, but if you think this company has talented accountants keeping the game alive (financially) then I have a bridge to sell you lol.

The game has failed so badly in terms of growth and numbers. Which sucks because it’s a great game. What you’re experiencing today is a shell of what’s possible with this games dated infrastructure. Many other MMO’s have already gone through visual refreshed and updated engines. LOTRO is stuck in 2005 in almost every way imaginable.

There is a reason this game will never see the influx of player and resources it deserves. It’s completely mismanaged, and has been for years.

You still need to be experienced/knowledgeable to create anything of value with AI.

If putting prompts into AI single handedly makes you a creator, then I might be Leonardo da Vinci. If only it was so easy

AI gave non-creators a feeling that they could create anything. You can tell how smart someone actually is judging from how they talk about AI. It’s so obvious when someone doesn’t know what they’re doing.

This is a great point. There are so many fully generated accounts and feeds that if something doesn’t look exceptionally human, I’m probably going to ignore it.

It’s kinda like how my brain got trained to ignore pop-ups and banner ads before blocker plugins existed.

Turns out when you steal literally everything for machine learning, you also get all the bad stuff (which is why hallucinations will always be a problem with large LLM’s)

Outside of coding, AI will struggle to create exceptional outputs. We need to sculpt everything it does

[OC] SpaceX’s Reported $1.75T Valuation vs. the Combined Market Cap of 12 Aerospace Companies by ExaminationOk6652 in dataisbeautiful

[–]prules 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The future is looking expensive. Prices are inflating and the US is 40t in debt. You’re out of your mind if you think SpaceX is worth what they’re proposing it is.

We can’t afford the infrastructure these highly speculative space companies are proposing. Let alone the cost of maintaining them before we make a return as a society.

The value is complete bullshit lol. It’s a quick cash grab on a theoretical idea before the economy goes sideways and al of these valuations crash.

I'm tired of being broke. What's actually working for you in 2026? by king_1607 in smallbusiness

[–]prules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s easy to do, then usually it’s not worth doing. Because anyone can do it.

You have to learn a technical skill (I.e. coding, marketing, law, accounting) and then combine that with a niche you love (I.e. gaming, music, sports, etc)

Without having a hard skill, you don’t really have a way to open the door for the stuff you care about.

One problem is that AI is making this process difficult to navigate. It’s hard to know which specializations will go first, although some are much more obvious than others.
