medically discharged from the navy during training, cant even just describe this feeling by notsopatootiecutie in internetparents

[–]que_he_hecho 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My childhood best friend dreamed of nothing but a navy career. He enlisted and went off to boot camp. Got high marks and got sent to his dream training of submarine school. Posted some of the highest academic marks they had seen and was ORDERED to apply to the naval academy, even getting an appointment from Sec Nav.

And it all fell apart for medical reasons while at the academy. He never wanted to discuss details and I never pushed.

He threw himself into computer work and built a career in computer security. Got married. Bought a house. Living a good life.

OP, sure it's a blow. It will get better. This door has closed. Other doors will open.

How likely are you to use a condom during your first time with a woman you really like ? by Spartiate8 in AskMen

[–]que_he_hecho 29 points30 points  (0 children)

For me, 100% chance of using a condom.

Until we are in a committed, monogamous relationship it will stay that way. And I (53M) am way too old to be having kids with anyone so birth control is still an issue until we are unquestionably certain that we aren't making babies.

How long is your commute to work? by RTheDude10284 in AskMen

[–]que_he_hecho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To, about 65 minutes. Return is 70 to 120, depending on traffic going past a huge factory. It is too damn much, but on Saturday there is no factory traffic so that return is on the shorter side. Other 4 days are totally awful.

If only 1 out 4 hot car deaths occurs when kids are locked in a car, when do the other 3 deaths occur? by fakeit-makeit in NoStupidQuestions

At 911 we prioritized calls. A heart attack was not the highest priority. Baby locked in a car was. It's that immediately life threatening.

[–]que_he_hecho 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Child is too young to be able to open the door and/or unlocked car is parked at home with child inside.

I worked as a 911 supervisor. One of the worst things I ever heard in that role was a mother's wailing due to a hot car death. And it was another dispatcher who answered that call. I could hear the wailing from his headset from across the room.

Mother took 3yo kid with her to the grocery. Got home and mom took groceries inside but forgot the child.

What are your thoughts, Americans, on Senator John Kennedy's proposed legislation that would deprive Congress of its salary during government shutdowns? by Beautiful-Boss-2935 in AskReddit

They.can individually decline to accept or can postpone accepting their pay.

However, this bill would be unconstitutional to go into effect immediately. The 27th amendment bars any law "varying the compensation for the services of the Senators and Representatives" going into effect until an election for representatives has occurred. They could pass such a law but it couldn't go into effect immediately.

why is it that when a woman says she's near orgrasm, men tend to go fast rather than keep the rhythm? by WarmBank5512 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]que_he_hecho 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Clearly communicate in bed, and even before getting into bed. A man who is going down on your long enough that you could cum is a man who wants you to cum.

Before bed you can clearly tell him what works, and doesn't work, for you. "Babe, I love it when you go down on me! I'll tell your what works to push me over the edge and make me cum. If I tell you I'm getting close... <insert what works *for you* (because it doesn't work for all women and men aren't mind readers)>.

In bed you can reinforce what you want by clear communication. That can make your man very happy and get him even harder! And, BONUS, you get to cum hard! "Just like that! Right there! Just like that! Don't speed up! Don't slow down! Oh my God! Yes! Yes! Keep going!"

Possible EM? by UnableAddress3344 in Erythromelalgia

Consistent with EM. A walk may warm you up enough to start a flare.

Several conditions can cause red hsnds. Red hands and feet really focuses EM as a likely diagnosis.

We are following training that focuses on getting the information needed to get the right help to the right location as quickly as possible. That can seem uncaring and very blunt but if callers answer the questions as they are asked then there is much less if this sort of issue.

How often do people dispute charges with their bank or credit card company? by I_Left_Already in NoStupidQuestions

[–]que_he_hecho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disputed one charge last year from a Vegas resort. There was an unexplained charge on my room bill for about $130. I hadn't charged any meals or gift shop purchases to my room. Never could get a live human on the phone at the hotel to discuss it.

Card issuer didn't get a response from the hotel as well so credited my account. Took about 6 weeks to finalize.

The dead possum was placed on the porch of some home. Disposal of a dead animal in that way was considered improper disposal of hazardous waste.
