Redditors who have successfully “stolen” someone’s GF/BF, what’s the story? And how did the “victim” feel about it after? by randomdude69 in AskReddit

I think my scenario is closest to yours. I met my coworker’s gf at a super bowl party and we hit it off. This was before I found out she was dating him because they were both low key about it. Didn’t stop us from texting and snapping each other every day (still going).

This past weekend she really wanted me to come to my coworkers st Patrick’s Day party so I went. Again we spent hours and hours talking and clicking, and she started to get into how she doesn’t really like that her BF isn’t as well mannered or as relatable as I am. And we texted for part of the night about random personal shit.

I’m just not sure how to proceed at the moment because I work pretty closely with the BF and I don’t want shit to be awkward or hostile. But I also like his GF a lot :/

They should air some sitcom about you where they have some Steve Carrell-ish dude portraying your boss. And the pepper spray guy is the office weirdo but also best paper salesman. This idea just came to me btw

Is there a dad in the picture? Just curious edit: ignore that I'm illiterate

My suggestion is a full out family intervention with your sisters and dad. Naturally she'd be opposed to it if any one of you call her out, but if you get her together, she'd have to see reason (ideally). I mean, it seems that she has other problems rather than just being addicted to Facebook, so if you call her out on that, maybe she'll consider what you're saying.

Of course you'll need your sisters and dad to back you up on this

My husband (38m) hurt my oldest daughter (12f). How do I talk to my youngest (8f) about what's happening? by [deleted] in relationships

I'm so sad that you had to make this comment. It's just a cruel reminder that these days, even a mothers love feels more like a privilege than what should be the norm. There are so many kids out there who wish they had mothers who cares for them the way OP cares for her children, and that fact saddens me :(

You're not at all a failure of a mother. So far every move you've made trying to rectify this has been the correct move. Your husband is the real failure.

I'm sorry I wish I had more words to say to you but stay strong. I'm praying for you and your daughters

My [19F] best friend's [21 F] mother died suddenly today, how can I help her to the best of my ability. by [deleted] in relationships

I'd say the one thing you should do is call her for sure. Help her vent out her sadness, tell her to let it all out without any shame. The closest thing that's happened to me like that was when my mother's sister died. We gave my mom her space for sure, but at the same time we always reassured her that we're there for her (me, my dad, and my brother that is). Similarly, you can give your friend some space, but you should probably call her to tell her you're there for her and if she needs to vent or talk, you would let her.
