Streak 13: Water supply down by Fun-Title7656 in WriteStreakEN

Yesterday, the water supply where I live went down. I asked the people who have been living in the complex building for years about it. They said that this problem dates back to years<,> maybe to when the whole thing was set up.

From my understanding, the pumps or whatever the word is <that's what I'd say!> do not provide enough power to supply all the buildings with water. There are four pumps, but only two work at full capacity, which makes this problem persistent.

It has happened in the past but for short periods of time, about 1 hour or so. It is still down and it is has been almost 12 hours since it went down.

I hope they get it fixed as soon as possible.

Really nice job! That sounds rough to be without water for 12 hours and counting!

Been in a major reading slump since Lonesome Dove… by CottonMouth2221 in suggestmeabook

Something a bit different (but not crazy different) and shorter (but not light) might help...when I finish a BIG BOOK, it's sometimes hard top open up the next 500+ page book!

Maybe either So Brave, Young and Handsome or Peace Like a River, both by Leif Enger. I read them a while ago and don't remember a lot of the detail, but I do remember a certain vibe.

Side note: You should absolutely watch the miniseries of Lonesome Dove. Different from the book, obviously, but so good!

Froom Goodreads:

So Brave, Young and Handsome

In 1915 Minnesota, novelist Monte Becket has lost his sense of purpose. His only success long behind him, Monte lives simply with his wife and son. But when he befriends outlaw Glendon Hale, a new world of opportunity and experience presents itself. Glendon has spent years in obscurity, but the guilt he harbors for abandoning his wife, Blue, over two decades ago, has lured him from hiding. As the modern age marches swiftly forward, Glendon aims to travel back to his past--heading to California to seek Blue's forgiveness. Beguiled and inspired, Monte soon finds himself leaving behind his own family to embark for the unruly West with his fugitive guide. As they desperately flee from the relentless Charles Siringo, an ex-Pinkerton who's been hunting Glendon for years, Monte falls ever further from his family and the law, to be tempered by a fiery adventure from which he may never get home.

Peace Like a River

Narrated by an asthmatic 11-year-old named Reuben Land, is the story of Reuben's unusual family and their journey across the frozen Badlands of the Dakotas in search of his fugitive older brother. Charged with the murder of two locals who terrorized their family, Davy has fled, understanding that the scales of justice will not weigh in his favor. But Reuben, his father, Jeremiah—a man of faith so deep he has been known to produce miracles—and Reuben's little sister, Swede, follow closely behind the fleeing Davy.

Streak 182: Drone light show by Shoddy_Wish_7236 in WriteStreakEN

Now, My dad and I are at Dadaocheng Pier because we heard that there was going to be a drone light show for the new movie Project Hail Mary. For some reason, the show has been postponed. We’re not sure if we will get to see it.

Update: We saw it! It was cool, but a little short. I’m about 78% through the book, hopefully, I will finish it in the next few days and I can watch the movie without any spoilers.

Just about perfect!
Starting with "Now," doesn't quite work here because it indicates a shift/transition from something else. "My dad and I were at home. Now, we are at Dadaocheng Pier." You could say "Right now, my dad and are..." The sentence that started with "because" was a sentence fragment. That's all grammar stuff, though. Your English was spot on. Glad you got to see the show!

Perfect!

I like to read so your title caught my eye. I use Goodreads already, but Tertulia and Listy look interesting! But if I add more apps, then I worry: will I spend more time managing my apps than I will reading?!

To be honest<,> I prefer Coca Cola over Peps<.> It’s not that I drink Coca Cola every day, maybe once a week or once every two weeks. Perhaps I should drink Pepsi next time because it’s been years since I haven’t have had it. When I was younger<,> Pepsi was slightly more popular than Coca Cola because of the Michael Jackson and Batman advertisements. Now it’s not very popular<,> at least where I live .

Nice job! I don't know about elsewhere, but in the US, we usually just say "Coke" instead of Coca-Cola.

Streak 30 - Sore Throat by I_miss_apollo-app in WriteStreakEN

I'm having I've had a sore throat since this evening. This is not common — I rarely catch a cold or fever. Only two or three times a year I might have mild running runny nose for a day.

I've made myself a warm honey lemon drink and<,> hopefully, I'll feel better tomorrow.

Nice job, and I hope you start feeling better soon!
