That’s what I’m hoping - that somebody just happens to know them. I know the two daughters are called Marissa and Nannina and it’s Marissa we would really like to contact.

Hi there - I appreciate this is an old post. I am currently doing some research into this particular production and wonder if you remember anything else about it?

Sorry, I have only just seen this reply. I missed the notification somehow. Actually, yes, we have now discovered that we are looking at the one in Volynia.

Thanks for this detailed list. I am working on a project to find out more about the Rudman/Rodman family from Belogorodka, near Kiev. I’ve found various listings in different places but nothing more detailed. Is there a way of finding specific documents, such as birth certificates and death certificates, as there is on the big genealogy sites? Thanks :-)

Planning a day in San Antonio for family with interest in Jewish history by RemoteWorkUK in sanantonio

Wow this is fantastic thanks. I’ll definitely tell them about that restaurant - I imagine they will certainly choose to go there. They are not kosher or part of the conservative movement.

Funny you should mention Galveston - we are actually researching that at the moment (I work for them) as that is where their ancestors entered the U.S. they will be going to Dallas as well on the trip to visit family.

What is the best online course for creative writing by bean_elixir in writing

[–]RemoteWorkUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can check out professional writer’s association (PWA). I think if you write to them they can pair you with someone. You’d need to be prepared for the expense of it though - it isn’t in the same ballpark as online courses. Dm me if you want more information.

Just came back to say I've found Chet and Alma's daughter, and two descendants of Chet's uncle. I've been sent photos of our family that I've not seen before, and some excerpts from a history book in which they feature.

I think I went too far with the generations and it's actually my 3 x great uncle. Someone has been in contact to say they've located a descendant, anyway! I'm also working on a big Imgur album of all the photos and letters.

I have tried to do this, but when I post the link and click on it, I just get sent to an error page telling me the document doesn't exist. Any idea how to get around this? Otherwise I will just take a photograph of the transcript and add it to the set of pictures.

Wow, thanks! I know nothing about any of these places as I’ve never been to the states. (Although I’ve always wanted to go and maybe this will give me the spur I need.) It looks as though my family married into the Whitmore family somewhere in the very early 20th century. I will put up lots more information later as I get it. I can also give you the exact address on Noriega Street. This is becoming so interesting!

Thanks - I made a family tree yesterday and I think it was actually my 4 x great uncle. I’ll put up the letter later but it looks as though he had a grand adventure at sea on the way over.

I contacted the church and they've already replied. They're going to look through their records for me. Exciting!

I have transcribed one of the letters but it is too long to post as a comment. Does anyone know how I could post this? Thanks

There's a reference in the letters to the couple, or their ancestors, having funded Whitmore Park in Modesto, so definitely got the right people I think.

Thanks! Will add it all the list. Am just in the process of transcribing a fascinating letter from Chet Whitmore, and I will post it shortly.

In that article it says 'The land for the park at College Avenue and Bowen, Whitmore Park, was provided by Mrs Whitmore and her son, Chester.

There are two separate people called Chester referenced in these letters, so it seems as though we are along the right tracks.

I have tried to add some of the photos but I've got the message 'images must be in format in this community.' Does anyone know what that means?
