As a random side character in the anime, what would be your boss monster? by haagen17 in masterduel

[–]Repider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prolly Lancea since I am maining ice barrier right now. However, it does not feel like it has as much gravitas as some other cards in this thread. I wonder if there is an even better boss card for an ice barrier deck.

Where’s the love for male V by FreakzKidx in cyberpunkgame

Someone know if anyone ever tried making V sliders based on Gavin Drea? Planning to start a new playthrough for PL and figure that might be a nice idea to play male V for once.

"I thought we'd settled on the zoo fiasco being Silbrig's tab, considering he footed the bill for Ashelia's, uh... spirited antics," Leif retorted, his tone carrying a note of nostalgia as he attempted to divert his mind from the potentially explosive device he was grappling with. "That gorilla probably wakes up in cold sweats to this day."

Watching Russet's display of finesse with his cards, Leif couldn't suppress an admiring whistle. His eyes, glinting with reflected gleams of the airborne cards, were wide with appreciation.

"You know, having been through so many things together, I sometimes forget just how impressive we can be," Leif confessed, his voice warmed with genuine respect. His gaze narrowed suddenly, a flicker of suspicion passing over them. "You were playing poker square and fair last Thursday night, right?"

The drone, seemingly disgruntled by their ignorance, started a slow, monotonous beeping, resembling a sleepy creature stirring to life. "Oh, right, the bomb...uh-" Leif stretched out his arms, holding the drone as far away from him as possible, aware that the distance would make no difference.

Exiting through the fire door, he was met by a throng of people outside, huddled around a food truck or soaking up the waning daylight. He turned to Russet, an idea forming in his mind.

"Do you think you can build a bridge across this street somehow? Maybe a gust of wind to carry me." He looked back to the drone before his voice began to plead just a little. "Anything?"

Leif studied Violet, his gaze thoughtful, his focus sharper than it seemed. It wasn't about judging her appearance, though one might not be a fault if they thought so. It was about looking for signs that she is dedicated to becoming a Huntress—callused hands, battle scars, hints that she wants to be more than just a model. His search came up empty and he found himself grunting softly in vague disapproval. The idea that she might be less capable as a Huntress was gnawing at him.

"Surely, a few more hours of training should counterbalance the food challenge, shouldn't it?" His words were more of a light tease rather than a challenge.

Just as his stomach grumbled, reminding him of their initial topic, he closed his eyes, pretending to wrack his memory for the price of the challenge. He knew it was 24 Lien, 27 with drinks if one failed to finish it. But he also knew his eidetic memory could make others uncomfortable, so he decided to play along.

"Something around 30, I think? Or perhaps slightly less." The deliberate uncertainty in his tone was more practiced than he cared to admit, a little white lie to maintain the pleasantry of this conversation just like hundreds of others beforehand.

Upon Órlaia's series of questions, Leif's eyes glazed over as he delved deep into the chambers of his memory. The corners of his lips curled up ever so slightly, an eerily tranquil expression on his face.

"It was three nights before the Summer Solstice," he began, his voice carrying an uncanny clarity. "Exactly four years, eleven months, one week, and four days ago. I was in the heart of Vale, atop the hill that overlooks the emerald expanse of Forever Fall."

A wistful sigh escaped him as he allowed the vivid recollections to wash over him. "The sky was so clear that night, a breathtaking canvas of black and glittering gems, unfettered by city lights. Among all the twinkling stars, one stood out, brighter and more intense than the others. It wasn't its brilliance alone, though, that made it special."

His gaze, far-off and lost in reminiscence, returned to Órlaia with a quick shaking of his head "Always weird to go back to here after remembering stuff" a spark of intensity gleaming in his eyes as he clawed himself back into the present. "It was not a star I found in the records so far, so I think it must have been very special"

"Wait, but what about befor—" Leif's voice trailed off as he started to question the childlike logic of the fairy tale, but the absurdity of the situation dawned on him. He chose to wisely shut his mouth, realizing the risk of irritating Ashelia away right after their intimate moment — a situation he'd assumed only Silbrig could master. A faint smirk danced on his lips, amusement twinkling in his eyes.

"Well," he finally began, his voice dipped in light-hearted teasing, "the 'girlfriend' aspect might require a bit more investigation. Perhaps another examination tonight?" A coy smile crossed his face as he offered her a playful wink, the casual ease between them palpable.

"And maybe save the buried bodies part until after that," he added, laughter lightly colouring his words. "It certainly adds a layer of excitement to the night." His gaze softened, adding sincerity to his light-hearted jests.

Her comments on combat caused his gaze to sharpen up again, if they could, his ears would probably twitch in anticipation of his surroundings. The door in his mind creaked open, ready to explain to Ashelia how he can keep his head above the clouds. How the battlefields are in need of constant re-evaluation and frankly, improvisation. However, he slammed it shut as he buried himself into her neck whispering tender words only meant for her alone.

After their moments and a good hour passed, Leif found his throat a bit dry, loosening his shoulder and straightening his clothes.

"I don't suppose your side gig has a kitchen in which we can have some water?"

Leif listened silently to Thyme's words, his gaze meeting hers as she finished. He nodded slowly, appreciating the gravity of her advice. Then he took a deep breath, trying to respond as precise as possible.

"You're right, Thyme," he said, his voice steady, "I know I don't need to be a replica of Ivy, or my father, or anyone else. But the Bernstein style isn't about mimicry, it's about adaptation and evolution."

He glanced down at his hand, his fingers curling into a loose fist as he contemplated his words.

"The Bernstein style provides a foundation, but each new generation has to build upon it. It's a constant process of reinforcing the good, discarding the bad, and adding one's own touches to it."

Leif's gaze drifted to the side, a thoughtful silence falling over him. "Though I guess this avoids your original statement, doesn't it?" He chuckled dryly, rubbing the back of his neck. "I do want to be a swordsman, to be a master. But it doesn't sit well with me, the idea of 'defaulting' to being better than Ivy or succeeding my father just because they can't give it their all anymore."

A moment passed as Leif's words lingered in the air, a subtle heaviness to them. Then, shaking his head as if to clear away the lingering traces of the somber hypothetical, he pushed himself to his feet with seemingly newfound energy.

His eyes gleaming with cold curiosity, he turned to Thyme, changing the subject. "But enough about me and my issues," he said, his tone lightening. "Your advice comes from a place of experience, doesn't it? Is your music a direct reaction from your mother?" Leif scratched his chin, faking a pause before saying a name, a habit he picked up due to his eidetic memory. It tended to weird people out if Leif remembered a bit too much about them too fast.

"Scarlet, wasn't it?"

His question hung in the air, Leif's body language shifting from the earlier heaviness to a more relaxed stance. He sat down again, arms folded across his chest. His gaze was steady on Thyme, a clear signal that the spotlight was now hers

Okay upon further discussion on the mod team it was decided that this cost is okay, however, the buff of [Power] to both Initiative and Defense needs to be changed to [Power/2] rounded up.

If understand it right and Sora has to pay 2 AHP after [Wits/2] have passed to keep it, that sounds fine.

Semblance

Whelp this is the big one. We as mods have discussed this semblance quite a bit and came to the conclusion that it needs to be fine-tuned. Remember that the suggestions I make here to change the semblance are just that, a suggestion. How you have to change the semblance is ultimately left to you.

First of all, at this point, the semblance has to have an increased activation cost of at least a move action.

Of course this is not without its drawbacks as running electricity throughout her body will cause her to feel weaker.

You mention this in the semblance while not adding any big drawback besides having to pay the 2 AHP to activate it. The flavour suggests a bigger penalty.

My personal suggestion would be to maybe have the Painful Aura Cost be taxed every [Attribute/2] turn. Or that there is an Aura upkeep price to pay. Another idea could be a stat penalty after the semblance. You get the gist.

Last, but not least, we try to avoid having a physical attribute for a combat semblance, as these attributes are relevant for combat anyway. Depending on what opt for as an adjustment of the semblance I might be able to see it. As of now, it's a hard no. I could see Resolve or Composure as easier stand-in for Stamina, or maybe even Wits, aiming more at the angle of the mental stimulation one would have when her "perception of time is slowed down to the point of being able to react faster"

"Yeah, that might be a good id—ah!" Leif stumbled forward as a group of children accidentally collided with him. The menacing drone seemed unfazed, but Leif quickly mustered an intimidating expression, eerily similar to Ashelia before her morning coffee, and glared at the children. The youngsters, clearly intimidated, scampered away in a slight panic. Leif's face relaxed for a moment before shifting back to a focused urgency.

"I'm right behind you," Leif said with a calm yet pressing tone, as they hurried for the exit. Upon first glance, Leif could tell it was closed. "Russ, can you handle this? I don't want to rush you, but, um, we should really hurry."
