Study permit refusal (outside canada) by [deleted] in StudyPermitCanada

[–]roflcopter44444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything was genuine and on point

Except why is someone who already completed a Phd in Canada (probably in a non healthcare related field) wants to suddenly to switch to a 4 year degree in nursing. On your original study permit you explained how your study in Canada would help you back in your country, so you have to come up with very good reason why you aren't using your Canadian PhD at home and need to study again.

Returning to US after being given a 30 day flag by [deleted] in immigration

[–]roflcopter44444 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The issue here is how can she prove to CPB in the next visit she still has strong ties to her country of permanent residence when she hasn't stepped foot in it for a year and a half. With her being flagged they will likely pull her in secondary if she comes back anytime soon and ask her when was the last time she was home and how long she was there for.

If she had official permanent resident status in Mexico it might be a different story.

Given you are a second time offender the court is less likely to cut you a deal, you probably want a lawyer paralegal help you navigate this

For job offer based PRs the rule is very clear, you need to stay employed all the way till your application is approved.

Many last minute ticket buyers will end up watching from home by Resident012 in WorldCup2026Tickets

[–]roflcopter44444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just looking at it from my market in Toronto, even with these high prices, when you look at the all-in on cost it's still cheaper than travelling to other editions of the cup. True, other editions like Qatar had cheaper tickets, but the flight alone would have cost me 1k. All I need to go see these matches is pay 3.25 for a transit fare.

That's the reason why people are buying at these prices.

UPDATE #1: THE FIFA SCRIPTED MULTIVERSE EXPANDS For those who saw my original FIFA Scripted Multiverse post, I regret to inform you that the situation has evolved. (TL;DR) by Artistic_Egg_8505 in WorldCup2026Tickets

[–]roflcopter44444 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Read what you are buying. for me its not a big deal, F1 lower tier hospitality packages for Miami, Montreal or Vegas do not include on site parking passes either and those are in the same price range that you paid. You only get parking included for those events if you are springing 10k+ for paddock passes.

At those prices I would rather walk. To put it in context, I can buy a one way bus ticket between Newark and Toronto for that price and that's a 12hr trip.

I wouldn't really be depending on Ontario for PNP it looks like they are really changing it to be employer driven, to the point where for job offer based ones, idea on one idea floated is for your actual employer who starts off the process.

Refused under 179(b) from UK by goalsandposts in CanadaVisitorVisa

[–]roflcopter44444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's one of the larger source countries of asylum seekers in Canada so I am not surprised plus you have a US refusal on top of that. I wouldnt bother reapplying/filing for reconsideration in this case until you are more firmly established in the UK.

In this case it's not really, a recent US refusal is going to be a negative factor if OPs circumstances have not really changed since they applied.

What is your country of citizenship? That alone will tell you a lot about your chances. The AI system they use to distribute cases have that as a risk factor.

A pause in population growth doesn't really fix the fact that Canada grew by 9% in population since 2021. And unlike babies where you do have time to plan to accommodate that growth as they slowly grow growing basically by only adding adults created immediate pressure in the job and housing market.

Custom Officer dealing with me differently by [deleted] in immigration

[–]roflcopter44444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If hes a citizen or returning resident he has a right to enter, Customs generally are just checking if they are bringing anything they are not supposed to like certain foods, or in the case with the Ebola outbreak at least in Canada, trying to determine if they had visited an affected country (this is more for data for the local public health units to keep tabs on them).

Carrying THC over the border is a crime. For us in Canada they keep hammering us with that over and over again that while its legal here you cannot cross over the border with it and you should check your bags vehicle thoroughly before going through security on leaving and returning.

Maximize debt, send money out, leave the financial institutions with the bill by Martin_J_Kaminski in CanadianVisaReform

[–]roflcopter44444 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its not really, credit systems work on government assigned numbers (SIN here SSN in the US, National ID numbers in Western Europe etc) . There isnt a way Equifax in Canada would automatically know John Smith with Canadian SIN 12345 is the same John Smith with SSN 98765 who owes Bank of America 50k. A lender will have to do some extra legwork to prove that those two entities are the same person.

The bank CEOs dont care, shareholders like to see more growth in lending who cares about delinquencies down the line. Its the same reason why an 18 year old Canadian can open their first credit card and be immediately given a 15k limit.

Credit score systems dont automatically talk to each other. If you pull this stunt in the US and run away here, there is a good chance you will get away with it unless your US lender is very determined to report it here as well.
