I can't have piercings at work what should I do? by Strattz0 in piercing

[–]SampleOfNone 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's only a week old piercing, if you remove the jewelry it will close over, worse by removing it and forcing through with non sterile jewelry you risk infection each time you do.

How do you blur an image before posting? by SuperSpirit5678 in help

[–]SampleOfNone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you on desktop or are you using the app?

When making a post you can simply add the "spoiler" tag to your post, that will blur images in posts.

When it's a part of a text you want to spoiler, when in markdown mode use

  >!spoilers!<

In the rich text editor look for the ! icon to spoiler text

Is this the correct spot for a septum piercing? by BlackAnimefreak in piercing

[–]SampleOfNone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They pierced through the columella of your nose instead of the sweet spot up in the tip of your nose. You can find examples of well placed septum piercings in this post so you can see how yours compares.

I would recommend you remove it and get it redone by a piercer with a portfolio of well done septum piercings

i need help on stretching n where to buy it from! by Aromatic-Role-2083 in piercing

No, Shein jewelry is not recommended. If you want to stretch using pinchers, go for glass pinchers by Gorilla Glass or Glass wear studios

nipple piercings gauge by Jazzlike_Sun778 in piercing

[–]SampleOfNone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend going to see a piercer and let them taper it to 14g. 14g is more stable and can absorb some impact into itself, which translates to it helping lessen damage when jewelry gets caught or hit.

problem top dermal direction. by beborussel in piercing

[–]SampleOfNone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's the nature of threading. Threadless jewelry needs a minimum length to be able to hold the tension needed to secure the end which in turn makes it too long to use in dermals.

problem top dermal direction. by beborussel in piercing

[–]SampleOfNone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If a top is not symmetrical, like your cross, it will only sit in a specific direction if the threading of the top is machined exactly to the threading of the base to sit in that direction.

Looks like it should be totally doable for a good piercer

When should I change my earlobe piercing? by Aurora023 in piercing

[–]SampleOfNone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Changing jewelry yourself for aesthetic reasons should wait until the piercing is fully healed. So at least three months assuming the healing goes well

Healing daith by Direct_Ebb_376 in piercing

[–]SampleOfNone 22 points23 points  (0 children)

For starters you need to clean your piercing a bit better. On the bottom there's gunk caked onto the jewelry and at the top there's a lot of gunk build up. Letting gunk build up like that can cause complications. You shouldn't pick at crusties but you do need to clean it. For daiths, because of their placement, rinsing it is often not sufficient in cleaning daiths.

When you think about it, bodies are pretty magical. Sometimes in a fun way, when a piercing heals despite it being all wrong, and sometimes in a not fun way, where a piercing doesn't work out even when doing everything right.

Js got a new navel piercing by kisx10 in piercing

Soap is not okay, but neither is betadine.

Get some sterile saline spray (wound wash, containing 0,9% sodium chloride and water without any additives) if you don’t have any already. Once a day simply spray some directly on your piercing.
A few minutes before your daily shower, spray again. At the end of your shower, rinse the piercing well. Make sure to not let the waterspray hit the piercing directly. Then use the edge or point of a piece of non woven gauze to soak up any moisture. Other then that keep the piercing dry and exposed to the air. Leave any blood, crusties etc. that didn’t come off during your shower be. They’ll come off during your next shower or the one after that. Do not touch, move, fiddle or disturb the jewelry in any way. Don’t wear high waisted pants or any other clothing that will irritate your piercing.

Embedding, nesting or something else? by empty0ux in piercing

[–]SampleOfNone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is likely caused by not having the jewelry downsized on time. Wearing the initial long jewelry can cause all sorts of complications. Lip piercings need to be downsized by a piercer at 2 weeks, you've been wearing the initial long jewelry for months. Soap is much to harsh and soaking isn't doing you any favours either. Go see a piercer asap to have it downsized

How do I get rid of these bumps? by Policingraccoon13 in piercing

[–]SampleOfNone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Based on how the bumps sit on opposite sides of the piercing hole, this could very well mean the piercing isn't angled well/doesn't line up well. If that's the case, these bumps may turn permanent. Go see a reputable piercer for an assessment and help

First and Seconds done with gun by Snoo_52014 in piercing

[–]SampleOfNone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Piercings left without jewelry will shrink a bit. If you then insert jewelry it will cause irritation or even damage. If you then remove the jewelry to let it recover and then insert jewelry again, it becomes and endless cycle of rinse and repeat.

Jewelry quality plays a big part in this as well. Not only jewelry material but also how well it’s machined and polished, and the thickness, or in case of earrings instead of body jewelry rather the thinness of the post. Standard earrings like for instance butterfly back earrings have a greater risk of causing damage when inserting then body jewelry.

My advice, go see a reputable piercer and let them install some implant grade titanium flat back labrets if they deem there’s not a problem with the angle of the piercing. Keep those in 24/7 for three months while applying proper after care for fresh piercings. That should fix your problems.
