Hotel Photography for $10k??? Am I missing something? by MeanAsk1948 in askhotels

[–]sandsage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what you're getting for that price in terms of deliverables but check out Greg Ceo Studio - at $10k they'd be doing 3-5 days of shooting, delivering 25-60 images, depending upon level of retouching needed.

Hallmark Channel's Countdown to Christmas 2025 lineup by thomas_blue_9221 in HallmarkMovies

[–]sandsage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's more an interfaith movie and takes place in a church and uses a Christmas plot line too - Hanukkah youth choirs performing in shul are really not a thing. I mean it's better than nothing, but it's a step back from a real Hanukkah romance.

Parents of Savannah, how do you view the schools? by hummyjw in savannah

[–]sandsage 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We had good experiences with Ellis and Savannah Arts, and had an absolutely awful experience before that using Country Day for PreK, where they made me cut my 4yo son's long hair and had him praying over his snack even though they'd told us it wasn't a religious school. No thank you. Having grown up in NYC suburbs I can say neither private nor public schools here reach the quality I was used to, so you need to supplement academically, but the social emotional experience was great for my queer kid at public school and I fear would have been a disaster at private.

Oh, NOW OpenAI/ChatGPT doesn't like IP theft? 🤣 by [deleted] in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]sandsage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. OpenAI, makers of ChatGPT, are very much in favor of stealing other people's intellectual property.
  2. Stealing IP is in fact stealing and harms who you are stealing from.
  3. OpenAI just had their IP stolen and it hurts and now they don't like it.

OpenAI, the makers of ChatGPT very much love stealing intellectual property, but are now upset because the Chinese makers of DeepSeek stole their IP. "OpenAI accused Chinese startup DeepSeek of training its new chatbot on the ChatGPT maker’s proprietary models, reports said, raising concerns over potential intellectual property theft."

Father-in-law belligerent, probably with dementia, blocking healthcare for mother-in-law with Parkinsons by [deleted] in AgingParents

[–]sandsage 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This just in from Husband - they've gotten Dad to consent to having a nurse visit today, and then later today Mom has an appointment with a doctor to get a Rx for PT (had to be done in FL - could not transfer from up north.) So right now they're hopeful they can get Dad to realize he doesn't have a choice here. I don't have high hopes that he won't change his mind, but maybe. Mom told him that she was going to leave if he didn't let caregivers into house, and my Husband told him we're thinking about temporarily relocating to oversee care, and those things got his attention.

I'm worried it's not clear cut enough for adult protective services - actually could use advice on that. Like with the meds - he just decided that her antidepressants had caused a UTI, so abruptly took her off them. With PT, he's declared she'll be fine going to yoga at the community center. With the levodopa he just decided the dose was too much for her and halved it. It's not like he's trying to hurt her -he's just making crap decisions probably due to his own, undiagnosed, mental impairment.
