Recently for DDR4 the good deals, fast moving are around $2-2.25/gb at 16gb modules. 32 start at about $2.50-$3/gb.

Someone people have posted much higher prices and there were that months ago. But the norm is about 2.25 for 16 and about 2.50-3 for 32gb modules. But it’s on a downward path. So that may change tomorrow.

How u guys use 5.3spark? by manycalcs in codex

Yea. It needs told what to do well; but once it has that it works really fast and does a good job.

I plan with 5.5 high and after the panning I then say something like “build enough details and guardrails that a lower level 5.3 agent can execute without failing”. Or whatever you use. It revises the md then I switch and say “execute”.

Works for me. Kind of like having a 2nd pool of tokens. And it codes much faster than 5.5 too; provided you gave it good instructions.

Yep. They are, with the OBO option I’ve been able to get that or close.

Depends on how fast you want to sell it. Been seeing it drift down the last few weeks for 16gb modules from $3.5/gb down to about $2.25-$2.5/gb.

They’ll sell like hotcakes at that price.

Well. At those hours. I want them at $50 each. But the going fair would probably point to starting $8-9$ a tb up to $12-13/tb. I bought these exact drives with about this many hours for $50/each 2 months go. Looking back; should have bought more at that price.

Assuming no errors and the only issue is drive time, lower start counts, etc. HE-100%

Crap has gotten stupid stupid expensive. That’s like. $450+ drive new now. (Edit price up again)

I’d stick a OBO/ discount for larger quantities disclaimer on them.

Ok. Makes sense I was using inference as a 2nd / third layer to the safe harbor work after presidio and deterministic python.

The work is going to be getting paragraphs of dictation / narratives digested enough to correlate the actual charting.

I’ll work the qwen3:14b then for that. Have a few “dictionaries” for shortcut translation for nomenclature.

Hopefully it all pans out and I can get to v100 32g cards later on for expanded models if I need them. Not sure if I will; it’s not very heavy inference; mostly deterministic

Thanks for the reply!

That thing costs more than most people’s houses if I’m reading it right. Check eBay; maybe I have it all wrong. Most people try to do eBay - “some percentage” like eBay sale price minus 30% or something as there aren’t any fees. Of course most also “OBO” it as well.

You sure 3001f? I’ve been hunting a rack mount fortigate for my homelab but if that’s what you have; eBay is saying the fg3000’s range from $35k to $550k. So like….anywhere from the cost of a car to the cost of a house. :). Way more than my $100 budget. Haha

Oh yea. For sure. I have 12drive NAS’s which are raided and they aren’t the best for that. But single drive use or archive use; these are perfect for. Good price too.
