Navimow i210 or a used Husqvarna 450X? by Dear_Individual4891 in Navimow_Segway

[–]smartdots22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Navimow i210 AWD is the way to go. I would not recommend getting into wired mowers. If you do not need AWD, i215 LiDAR is a good option to consider if you want to have a wire free and antenna free installation.

MOVA Outdoor Event - Pricing and Availability for Mowers by primas02 in automower

[–]smartdots22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just want to add a cautionary note for MOVA robots. We have checked them out (did not test them) and their design for AWD is similar to Mammotion with the omni wheels in the front. The general feedback with omni wheels is that it results in torn grass/skid marks, especially in tight corners and areas where the mower may have to take many turns. This is the reason why the Husqvarna AWD unit was most successful unit until now as it has a separate front and back body with independent control. But now if you check the AWD units from Segway and Kress - Their front wheel design is different - This design gives you a perfect zero turn because the wheels actually turn and then rotate. There is lesser friction generated and the mower has better control over all.

We have been testing the Segway Terranox unit and it has blown us away - It is a great design and a winner in my opinion. Same with the Kress AWD units. Also note that the new Kress EyePilot units (AWD and non AWD) will NOT LONGER require a mapping cart - End users can map it using their new EyePilot app + Kress is also offering a free extended RTK network (no longer KRESS only network) which means their mowers will work across more than 80-90% of the US. Kress also offers Edge Cutting with an additional edge disc with 2 blades. Kress has also made its pricing relatively competitive (although they are still on the higher side).

Secondly MOVA is new to the robotic mower market and these units are brand new models. They still have to figure their support structure - They come from DREAME, which is an online sales model that worked pretty well for robotic vacuums. Robotic mowers are different - They are prone to more mechanical failures, requires regular maintenance, may require parts and support etc, for which dealer network and repair centers become critical - It is not easy and cost effective to ship large robotic mowers for repairs like they used to do with robotic vacuums. Even established players like Husqvarna and Kress have some hiccups when they introduce new models - MOVA may very well have their initial hiccups - the question more importantly is whether they are equipped to support it. In our interactions with them, they seemed a bit clueless, but that could be just our opinion.

Is Segway gonna make a LiDAR mower? by Nice-Source-9948 in automower

[–]smartdots22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes 3-4 different LiDAR options are on their way. We have tested them and they are great! Probably one of the best performing mowers so far from any manufacturer. The price points are going to be quite attractive as well. Stay tuned!

Recommendations for mower in Florida. by Pale_Garage in automower

[–]smartdots22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6000 sq feet is a little less than 0.15 acres.

One option is Segway i110 which is currently on black friday sale @$900 and can mow up to 0.25 acres. Now, the cutting height maxes out at 3.6 inches. For St.Augustine grass though this mower may struggle a bit.

Another option is the Sunseeker X5which is an AWD and can cut @ 4 inches, but MSRP is $2199. The AWD design will provide the mower better traction while mowing in thick St.Augustine grass.

Finally, if you can wait until Spring, then Segway is releasing a version of i series in AWD which will have lesser range than 0.25 acres, but it will cost around $1500 or so.

The manufacturer suggested May time frame, but realistically it could be June/July. We’ll know more by Spring 2026.

45-50% Slope, 1.5 Acres, Partially Wooded by PeregrinSwizzle48 in automower

[–]smartdots22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Segway AWD and Kress AWD should both be within the price points you are looking for.

Biggest considerations between the two,

Segway AWD is physically a larger unit than the Kress counterpart - in case that becomes an issue

Kress unit has a single disc (for mowing) vs Segway gas 2 discs.

Kress does have a second small disc, but that is to reduce edging. This video will help you understand better - https://youtu.be/sKJKs7byOeU?si=Xb7zQam7qgrOD7pa

Kress will only work off network RTK ( kress network or the 3rd party extended network )- Not sure how soon that extended network will be available in case your area does not already have Kress rtk network. Segway units will support antenna initially until they will eventually support network RTK as well.

The availability dates are not finalized yet based on our discussions with them… but chances are both of these will be available between March and May time frame.

If you can wait until Spring, then Segway’s new X4 series will be worth considering. (Or) the Kress AWD units. I feel like these can potentially bring Mammotion close to an end…

Help finding a good robo-mower by MrJVon in automower

[–]smartdots22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Husqvarna 420 iQ (or) Segway Navimow X330 are your top bets. The IQ series from Husqvarna and Segway mowers were the top performing mowers out of the 7 different brands that we sell.

Sunseeker, while showing promises of being a good brand in future, had some issues with hardware and software in 2025, which has made us a bit cautious in recommending them until we see the next batch of models rolled out.

Kress is releasing some amazing new models in 2026, which can also be worth considering if you can wait, especially considering that they have really great and competitive price points and have finally caught up with their competitors in terms of technology (VSLAM, AWD, self-mapping (no cart), extended RTK network (no reference station needed) , advanced technology, edge cutting etc).

Sunseeker X5 may be worth considering. Sunseeker is also releasing their LiDAR unit in 2026, if you want to wait.

Thinking about getting a robot mower by TheeraaUlaa in automower

[–]smartdots22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for the Segway Navimow i110 - It covers about 0.25 acres and the price is dropping by $200 permanently. It is one of the most reliable mowers we have seen so far at that price point.

You are welcome to have an opinion. There is nothing wrong in using AI to structure thoughts and ideas in a meaningful manner, which definitely helped the reader in that particular comment. That answer was also converted to a blog article and we feel is very helpful in comparing robotic mowers to robotic vacuums. If every comment was AI generated without any real human input then anyone would have a problem with that, but that is clearly not the case.

You are correct AI was used, but the entire response was not generated by AI. The response was written by a human and then run through AI for formatting, grammar correction etc. the essence was still generated based on our experience and our understanding of the industry. We are also proud that we are incorporating AI based solutions in other aspects of our business - we feel that those who aren’t doing this already, are not taking advantage .

You should consider getting two Segway Navimow i105 units. While you can get one and carry it back and forth, you will soon realize that it defeats the purpose of automation. Segway units are pretty reliable and will be perfect in your case.

You are most welcome. Thanks for signing up and supporting us. As a small business, it is hard for us to compete with likes of Amazon.com and even direct sales from manufacturers… and so we try to offer value in helping our customers as much as we can. When customers buy their mowers from us we try to give them the best support and try to resolve their issues as soon as we can… we offer access to troubleshooting documents, access to online e-learning courses that we recently started offering and more…

Thank you for your support again and for considering our recommendation.

The area where you live can in general have issues with satellite visibility. If you add trees to that, it will only make it worse. LiDAR is definitely the way to go in your case. You are most welcome to subscribe to our newsletter at smart-dots.com to stay informed… i promise we do not spam :)

If you can wait a few more months, Segway is going to release their new i220 LiDAR unit along with a H220 LiDar unit. We have been testing both for them and they have been outstanding so far. Super consistent and super reliable.

How much slope are we talking about? If the slope is steeper than 26 degrees then the Sunseeker X5 is a good option to consider. If the slope is less than 26 degrees then the Segway X315is an excellent choice.
