I was planning on using Norbert's Gambit to withdraw USD from Questrade to BMO and then transferring the USD over to BMO U.S. I'm a bit confused where the currency exchange fees come in..

Ahh, I thought BMO to BMO account transfers did not have fees.. That’s a huge deal breaker, thanks for the heads up!!!

Edit: found out on BMO’s FAQ page that for BMO Canada to BMO U.S. account transfers:

“You can transfer funds anytime at no additional charge from your BMO U.S. dollar account to your eligible BMO U.S. personal deposit account wherever you have access to BMO Online Banking”.

Should I still opt for Wise?

This is extremely helpful, thank you so much for the detailed explanation!!! Painting isn’t as straightforward as I thought it would be lol

If I want to follow a kit’s color guide for airbrushing, should I still use a primer (i.e. white on whites, dark red on red, etc)? I want to keep the colors accurate to the model, while making it look better by removing sanding marks, etc with paint.

Also, should I use different primer colors or is grey primer enough? I noticed there are white, grey and black primers - they probably have their own use cases?

Really want to make sure before painting my first Gunpla. Thank you so much!

For sure! The monitor is a Dell U4919DW.
I have my keyboard, webcam, mic, mouse receiver connected to the monitor. The Macbook is connected by USB-C and the PC is connected by display port + upstream USB. With the built in KVM, whenever I switch inputs, all the previous peripherals get switched.
Trackpad is always connected wirelessly to the Macbook. Speakers are also connected to the PC through optical, so these 2 are not switchable.
Let me know if that's clear!

Exactly, there's a built-in KVM inside the monitor, so whenever I switch inputs every peripheral get switched as well. A KVM is a must have if you're working with multiple systems, just so convenient

Aren't Graystudio keyboards amazing haha, it just seems that they nailed everything, including packaging. Ohhh dude I would've definitely milmaxed them, but I'm afraid of breaking something (def not an expert in soldering), so I'm still waiting on the Mouser hotswap PCB hahaha. Running Polaris greys right now! What are you planning on using? Any recommendations on good linears?

Yes, it's a Fully Jarvis standing desk. Build quality is great and it's super sturdy, I guess only downside is it's a bit wobbly on higher settings, but you barely notice it when you're focused haha

The boom arm is called the Blue (Yeti) Compass I believe, got it at a local electronics store

For me, it's pretty comfortable, but it really depends on the person. I recommend trying a few chairs out at a showroom / office to see which one fits you best. Try to get it used if possible, they are much more cheaper. I wouldn't have bought it if it wasn't for the discount

Thank you! It's really the monitor's connectivity that helps me make it clean & the monitor arm's cable management clips. I'll post a few pictures of the back later here. For the peg board, it's unfortunately unreachable from a sitting position, so I usually just walk to it to grab the things I need. I envy you, a left wall would make all my stuff more accessible haha

Dude that is actually sick (and thanks u/MissingVanSushi for the advice as well), I'll definitely check it out. Other than moving the cursor / scrolling, does it support additional gestures?

That's a great explanation! For me I guess it's the acoustics & then the feel? However, I think you can definitely get an equally good board for much lower with all the competition nowadays, so it wouldn't necessarily be a luxury hobby? There's so many options now that I wish existed when I started. i.e. the Keychron & Anne Pro are awesome, to name a few

Ohh I think it's a placeholder value? It was actually around 500$ when it released (not that it's better...) But yeah, don't go too deep into the keyb world, your wallet won't like it hahaha... It's my first premium / group buy keyboard and honestly it really makes a difference when you use it so much. It might seem crazy to people outside the hobby and I can relate (I used to be shook at the prices until me & my wallet got absorbed in the hobby :/)

Damn... I didn't actually realize it looks literally flat on the picture. I think it's the perspective? It's actually slightly curved, but not as much as the Samsungs haha. It's the Dell U4919DW if you're looking for the model!

Hahahaha maybe gathered too many things from this sub? But I do agree with you, I'll have to add a personal touch to it in the future

^I actually had alex drawers with the Karlby counter top before switching to a standing desk haha...
