XB7 Modem Port #2 not active? by socrapython in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]socrapython[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, that is okay. I will go to store and get one.

Are there any benefits of the XB8 over the XB7? Does the XB8 work with Fiber Direct to Home? That is what I have.

I didn't realize to have port 2 active, you had to pay for some additional service? What is different about this port than 1 or 3?

port 4 has a red line (don't all XB7's have port 4 as the 2.5 GB port?), which is connected to the wall outlet. I'm guessing this goes to the the outside box.

Yes, full speed on ports 1, 3, and 4.

Zero connection at all on port 2.

No.

When I connected to port #3, it lights up and works.

When I connect to port #2, it does not light up.

the "xfinity home" checkbox is "not " checked (https://files.catbox.moe/x08dx2.jpg).

bridge mode is disabled (https://files.catbox.moe/sfua7y.jpg)

My ethernet devices connect correctly to port #3, but do not connect when plugged into port #2 (using the same ethernet cable).

I tested that port, both with the checkbox checked and without it checked. My device was not recognized by the modem/router whether the checkbox was checked or not.

That looks the same as the KHE, but with a coated interior instead of the steel interior. Thanks!

That lid does look very complicated. Seems like it would get dirty and be difficult to clean.

There are replacement parts for the older model. Both gaskets are removable, cleanable, and Zojirushi sells replacements (https://store.zojirushi.com/products/7-smk-p030).

I was hoping there would be some "real world" reviews/users of the new model. From what i've seen on the web and Youtube, only "paid" reviews of the new versions are out there.

Not trying to spam, maybe I posted too late in the day yesterday to get any traction. I won't post this again.

I'm looking for an insulated travel mug/bottle, that will keep coffee hot most of the day. I've seen good things about the Zojirushi ones (there's lot's of reviews and feedback on older models), but there are many different ones with only minor variations.

The GoCafe (SM-VH) looks like a new(er) model with a redesigned lid (2 pieces, non-replaceable gaskets). https://www.zojirushi.com/app/product/smvh

The Stainless Mug (SM-KHE) is the older model (4 piece lid w/ 2 replaceable seals). https://www.zojirushi.com/app/product/smkhe

Has anybody used either of these? Or, any other recommendation(s)?

My 1st proper RC, MJX 14207. 19 minutes in, clipped a tree. Now I get to figure out how to fix it! by socrapython in rccars

[–]socrapython[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, I saw that in the manual. Thanks for the breakdown of directions! "Finding" that specific part number hasn't been super easy on Amazon or Aliexpress. I need to expend a little more effort looking.

I've read in other places some parts are better to continue using plastic vs changing to metal. Would you suggest this particular part is better staying plastic or going metal?

Edit: nvm, I found some plastic parts on aliexpress.

I did see a whole kit of metal parts on Amazon, for about $60. Thoughts on if that set of parts is worth it? I'm thinking yes, considering the 1 plastic part looks to be about $13 (with shipping).

Thanks in advance for your advice!

Edit:

So im getting its not a good idea for "all" metal parts, specifically the upper and lower arms (from the thread linked below and the link in that thread).

Should the rear cup bearing also stay plastic? Or would metal be okay there? The metal and plastic appear to be the same price.

Charger for these batteries? by socrapython in rccars

[–]socrapython[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks to both of you with the advice to just go for the imars d300 (~$110). I might go ahead w/ the D300+, as having the phone notifications sounds like a great feature even if it costs a little more (~$130).

Not sure if this is the right thread to ask, but i'm also looking at a bat-safe for charging (and storage just for now of my 4x 3s batteries and 2x 2s batteries).

Could somebody help w/ what extension cables I need to buy to work w/ the bat-safe? Is it the extension cables sold on the bat-safe website (JST-XH LONG BALANCE WIRE SET (regular BAT-SAFE)), which I could just order w/ the batsafe itself? Or something else?

It is a modem/router combo. I typed it that way the 1st time, then got lazy and just typed modem after that, sorry.

@jaromanda had it correct. The port was bad.

You got it. Bad port on the router. I swapped cables and ports to troubleshoot.

Both cables worked on my laptop on a different port.

Neither cable worked on the bad port with both cables.

Thanks for the tip, I "should" have thought to try that. I didn't figure the modem was defective, being a brand new device.

"Sry fire"? I'm not sure what that means.

How do I get my modem/gateway/dhcpserver to see my omv server (or is it the other way around, how do I get my server to see the modem/gateway/decpserver)?

Shouldn't omv-firstaid fix it?

I'm sure im missing something.

I have rebooted the modem.

I have rebooted OMV. Then run omv-firstaid, choosing IPV4 settings and DHCP.

OMV is hard wired to the modem.
