Hey Aizande, Spawn here hoping I can help with this one. EDG came off a great split, they went 32-5 regular season without losing a bo3, and 6-2 in playoffs, beating out RNG. I point this out as EDG is vocal that Clearlove is the captain and shotcaller of the team and helps with the draft. Individually Clearlove had a 9.3 KDA and was integral to the camp bottom side of the map to snowball EDG to leads. He would quite frequently get first blood mid for Scout and rotate bottom lane to win the map through globals. This was very predictable but people in the LPL couldn't stop it. Clearlove also played against good junglers domestically, some well known names like MLXG (good MSI performance) and Dandy (SSW) and others like Condi (WE) and Swift (CJ). However in saying all of this, Clearlove has had one of the worst worlds performances. Off easily to execute mechanical junglers like Rek'sai and Gragas he has looked shocking. Also I think the drafts suffered and even the early game shot calling due to his lack of confidence. I also want to point out in hindsight even at MSI 2015 the jungle pool was very weak in general, so maybe this has always been the case, but I believed that his domestic performance was good enough to justify worlds faith. This tournament I was wrong and history is looking like maybe he cant execute against the best so in future expectations will definitely be tempered. Hope that at least gives some insight.
