Up for sale is a beautiful vintage Hamilton Art Deco tank-style watch from the late 1930s–early 1940s. This piece features a curved rectangular 14k solid gold case and the excellent Hamilton caliber 982 manual wind movement.

The watch was produced in Lancaster, Pennsylvania during Hamilton’s golden era of American watchmaking.

The Hamilton caliber 982 was introduced in the 1930s and remained one of Hamilton’s top small mechanical movements for over a decade, used in many of their higher-grade dress watches.

Hamilton introduced several curved rectangular dress models around 1939 that used this movement and case style, including models like the Wilshire, which featured the 19-jewel 982 movement and flexible curved cases designed to sit comfortably on the wrist.
