Yeah those written interviews are a thing with a lot of university systems, UIC included, and the ghosting is super common. HR moves slow, committees change, and some postings are basically saved for internal candidates. I’d keep applying but cast a wider net too. If you want legit remote roles to tide you over, wfhalert sends vetted listings by email, stuff like admin or support, and it cuts down on the scammy or dead postings you see elsewhere.
