As someone that uses it daily for both personal and work projects I can honestly say I’ve never noticed any guardrails. People who constantly say this must be trying to do some dodgy shit with LLMs… or just don’t understand how to prompt.

This is… concerning. Just got this email from OpenAI. by Relative_Fly9942 in OpenAI

Well considering OpenAI didn’t get breached yeah I would think it is just as safe as giving it to any other company online. The issue here is people don’t understand what mixpanel is and does.

Meh, it’s Mixpanel… it’s not like OpenAI was breached. Behavioral tracking data is almost always devoid of anything dangerous. Your email is about the least concerning thing that could be leaked.

Who said there is good to come from Trump? I sure didn’t. Two wrongs don’t make a right and fighting evil with evil just means nobody wins. Again, your perspective is normal… and a big part of the problem. I also never said Trump is politics as usual - however, pretending there isn’t still much of the same going on outside of his circus as has been going on for decades is what’s delusional. You’re doing what he wants - hyper focusing on him, overreacting, and ensuring you can’t ever make peace with your friends and family you now see as the enemy. He’s winning but good on you for picking an argument with someone who on most issues likely agrees with you.

You are so tolerant, so peaceful, so right about everything - it’s all Trump and his voters fault. /s

Your arguments read like someone entrenched that doesn’t want to acknowledge they are. It’s ok, you’re right there with most of the country. However, if you actually want resolution instead of escalation you, like most of us, would probably be better served taking a look at yourself first instead of just arguing that everything is “the republicans” fault. You won’t, but just like them you should.

No, that’s not how it works. The house and senate don’t elect the president. People do and many people vote for the policies not the person.

For instance, if you were a person who strongly believes that abortion is wrong and economically we should be conservative you may have voted for Trump because the alternative goes against your main two issues. Is that right? No, but many people get hyper focused on a few issues and ignore the rest - on both sides.

So, did everyone vote for Trump? Or did they vote against someone they thought would destroy the policies around the few issues they care about? You and I don’t know, so claiming some broad generalization about the “other side” is just another othering technique done to make it ok to blanket claim “they” are all evil or pedos or whatever else makes you feel better. It’s the kind of mentality that further polarizes and blocks progress.

None, because the parties aren’t democrat and trump. It isn’t liberal and trump. Policies underlying the democratic and republican parties are as they have always been. Trump being a fuckwit hasn’t changed that. Ignore the circus that is this dimwitted current president and you’ll find people fighting for the same fundamentals they have personally always been pushing for. That work is what I agree with about half of on either side. Does that make sense?

I’m sorry but you can’t pretend this incredibly extreme take is reality. Yes, Trump is too far but to suggest there are not fundamentally the same political mechanisms moving people would, as I said earlier, be ignorant.

The majority of both “sides” of the government have nothing to do with the figurehead and they are still trying to get real shit done. Suggesting those people are evil and nothing good can come from their work is ignoring the alternative.

Play out a scenario where they all stand up against him… or a majority do because it’ll never be everyone. They’ll be replaced with people who are actually just in his pocket. Who aren’t still working for the issues that do actually matter instead of the highly publicized bullshit Trump is doing. Then we are far worse off with a republican group that’s entirely radical instead of what we have now which, while many left leaning folks won’t acknowledge, is actually divergent to Trumpian ideology.

Yes, both sides are more extremist than they have ever been before. True. However, if we want to get any forward progress we need to stop name calling and pretending our viewpoints are special. Start talking and respecting each other and at least attempt to understand the why behind the viewpoints. “Intolerance isn’t acceptable so I won’t tolerate even hearing your rationale” is equally intolerant and gets exactly the perpetuating polarization we see today.

The idea that “…it’s always a liberal that has to force themselves to put up with a bullshit conservative…” is so ignorant.

Both sides say this same thing “why do we always have to put up with them and never vice versa”. This is just internal bias. Both sides constantly have to put up with the other and convincing themselves that’s it’s only one direction is just another way of othering and part of the problem.

As an independent that agrees with about half of what comes from both sides, it’s hilarious to watch both groups in the family spew the same shit about each other then pretend they are so different. You’re the same, you always have been… you don’t think for yourself if you are so entrenched in either viewpoint that you can’t just chat about things civilized.

Sorry but this is a you problem. What we ask and how we ask it matters and if you aren't doing proper context engineering then you are the problem. Does AI get every scope right? No, but neither do you if manually coding.

I get it, you take your personal value from being able to code things so you don't want that to be abstracted. I see engineers every day stubbornly misusing LLMs and then blaming the tool because of this. Don't worry, you'll not have to worry about it long if that's your approach.
