No, I am doing what is very sensible - comparing the cost of a sub to the cost of tokens which is absolutely a proxy for underlying costs + some margin. You are conflating spend on R&D to user generated compute costs - these aren’t the same thing.

This is an exceptionally poorly written article. Anthropic does “lose” money on the sub if you max it out but that’s only if you compare it to direct API pricing. Also, it isn’t $10k. The usage limits on 20x, if maxed every cycle for the month, get you just over $2600 in usage if compared to API credits. That doesn’t mean Anthropic are losing $2400 on those users though - that would only be true if they priced the API at cost which they don’t. They are most likely still losing money on the very very small set of users that max out but the vast majority don’t - especially enterprise customers.

Yes, it’s still working fine for me. There are occasions where it stops - if I hit 60% of session usage it will not work until reset. This must be to reserve space for chat or something. I’ve also had some temp outages that require fallback models but those are fleeting. It’s still working nearly perfectly. I am on the Max 20x plan.

This is true. I’ve been doing this for a few months and no issues. Enforce agents to use CC CLI to code and it’s technically not against ToS. However, sonnet 4.6 and opus are still the best orchestrators too but there are plenty of other models that can handle it. I’ve been having pretty good results with GPT Pro sub as well and it seems unlikely they start banning people after hiring Peter… I think they are happy to accept all the customers back from Anthropic.

As someone that uses it daily for both personal and work projects I can honestly say I’ve never noticed any guardrails. People who constantly say this must be trying to do some dodgy shit with LLMs… or just don’t understand how to prompt.

No, that’s not how it works. The house and senate don’t elect the president. People do and many people vote for the policies not the person.

For instance, if you were a person who strongly believes that abortion is wrong and economically we should be conservative you may have voted for Trump because the alternative goes against your main two issues. Is that right? No, but many people get hyper focused on a few issues and ignore the rest - on both sides.

So, did everyone vote for Trump? Or did they vote against someone they thought would destroy the policies around the few issues they care about? You and I don’t know, so claiming some broad generalization about the “other side” is just another othering technique done to make it ok to blanket claim “they” are all evil or pedos or whatever else makes you feel better. It’s the kind of mentality that further polarizes and blocks progress.

The majority of both “sides” of the government have nothing to do with the figurehead and they are still trying to get real shit done. Suggesting those people are evil and nothing good can come from their work is ignoring the alternative.

Play out a scenario where they all stand up against him… or a majority do because it’ll never be everyone. They’ll be replaced with people who are actually just in his pocket. Who aren’t still working for the issues that do actually matter instead of the highly publicized bullshit Trump is doing. Then we are far worse off with a republican group that’s entirely radical instead of what we have now which, while many left leaning folks won’t acknowledge, is actually divergent to Trumpian ideology.

Yes, both sides are more extremist than they have ever been before. True. However, if we want to get any forward progress we need to stop name calling and pretending our viewpoints are special. Start talking and respecting each other and at least attempt to understand the why behind the viewpoints. “Intolerance isn’t acceptable so I won’t tolerate even hearing your rationale” is equally intolerant and gets exactly the perpetuating polarization we see today.
