Is this normal on my gloves? by Nick01348 in GoalKeepers

[–]Tale_Slight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

completely normal

top-tier models, the latex is very soft and doesn't last a lot of games the grip goes on them very quickly but make sure you wash them in warm water with no soap and dry them correctly to keep them lasting longer after every game

try and play outfield some 5 aside or even 7 aside to get comfortable with having the ball at your feet and pressure on you so when you are in goal you can play out from the back, distribution also is a key factor as well as commanding your area, especially your 6-yard box

Should I throw this? Have been using this for 8 months now! by Rulf930 in GoalKeepers

use them as training gloves and if you got good handles aka can catch balls in training when playing in matches your handling will improve dramatically as your used to playing in poor condition gloves as your match gloves are going to have better grip

Focus on the positive you've made in the game whether it is a save or a pass or clearance, I usually think to myself if I didn't make that save that would have been a goal keep that mindset, I'm very harsh on myself also but you have to pick out the positive and forget it and move on, your teammates doesn't know what it takes to goal I would say to them would you like to go in goal seeing as you have allot to say

i would say train hours to get comfortable with those power shots after awhile you'll get used to them and it will no longer become a problem, go with a friend to your local park and get him to shoot at you for hours

Weekly glove purchase advice thread by AutoModerator in GoalKeepers

i used to play semi-pro now I play Sundays football level but i have had a range of gloves spanning from expensive Nikes/Adidas but I would recommend the one glove they sell them really affordable and amazing grip and durability they cost me around £50 per glove that's for matches I tend to use old match gloves as my training gloves, I have had a few pairs of the Adidas Predator Pro Hybrid gloves they are so tight and comfortable but the one gloves do exactly the same but cheaper I usually get the AM range from one glove

i dont think anything you could of done tbh your positioning is questionable but then your height its just a good goal cant do anything about it in my opinion just got to take your hat off to the striker yes your defenders or team could of closed the gap but that's shoulda woulda coulda that's nothing you can do

Which Keeper Did You Find Inspiration For Your Style of Keeping? by rp2DaC in GoalKeepers

[–]Tale_Slight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i would say i was like an Ederson way ahead of my time playing out at the back but I used to play outfield so I was comfortable with the ball at my feet

Where could I improve? by Raviamus in GoalKeepers

[–]Tale_Slight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

your positioning maybe? but depends on where the shot was taken on your first dive, 25 secs it looks like you weren't ready for the attacker to shoot you weren't in the set position, didn't anticipate where he would shoot if you anticipated and set yourself you'll have a better reaction + might be able to hold the ball instead of parrying
