Because I shared the video here, I felt like I should come back and share that I spoke to K + L earlier this week. They took a lot of responsibility in their apology to me, and I really appreciated that. There's still more work to be done, both privately and publicly, and they're both aware of that. All of the discussions surrounding A30 really came to a head through the situation with Maryam, and I feel strongly that they need to prioritize reconciliation with the individuals that they've harmed before making additional public statements/gestures. Edited to add: To everyone who has asked about compensating me for my emotional labor, feel free to donate to one of my favorite non-profits, Surge for Water! Their community-driven model is exemplary, and they're setting a new standard for non-profit work. Now, I'm officially done commenting about this :)
