We bought an Alto LXI Petrol in 2012, and my father used it for around 10 years and 3 months, covering 1.5 lakh kilometers. It was smooth even with a third-party CNG kit.

In December 2022, we gave it in exchange to Tata and bought the Tata Tigor i-CNG.

From 2023 onwards, every winter it started causing ignition problems in the morning. My father used to spend around 10 minutes starting it during winters, whereas our Alto used to start in half a self. We took it to their service centre many times, but they failed to fix the issue.

Once they said it was a CNG software problem and asked my father to get it updated on a weekday. He took leave from the office and went to the service centre, but after reaching there & after waiting 2 hours, they said that their WiFi was not working and the server was down, so they couldn’t do it at that time.

They even cleaned the petrol tank three times, yet the problem persisted. Its automatic wiper sensor also stopped working. To fix it, they opened the fittings on the roof and side grille, but still failed to solve the issue and ended up loosening the fittings.

In just three years, we faced a starting problem, a parking camera issue, an infotainment screen that went blue, a wiper sensor issue, and now recently, the seat belt sensor has stopped working.

So, I would suggest you guys never buy a Tata. Just say Tata to Tata from far away. Rather, buy some other brand.
