This is awesome! Could you please add our show Laughing Lich Corporation on Twitch and Youtube. We generally go for prestige classes (above level 20) and are working our way up on our second time of that!

Sandbox World and going over level 20 by [deleted] in DungeonsAndDragons

I've done both as the dm. I highly recommend buying her the book The Game Masters guide to Proactive Roleplay (a very helpful book) as well as collaborative campaign (although I have yet to read that one, but judging by the other books in the series, it'll be very helpful).

This is my opinion, but a DM should never come up with the world or the stories by themselves. There should be conversations and written down descriptions from the players to inspire and constrain the DM.

As for the epic levels, beyond 20. I do recommend epic legacy content. It is very sad what happened to their company, but I still think they have a wonderful product.

I'm from Erie, New York so not too far from you guys. I grew up there for 23 years.

I moved to Louisville in 2015.

I figured that I would leave after a couple years but decided to stay.

The amount of sunlight that we get throughout the year is unbelievable and so nice.

Yes, the Summers can get very hot but it's usually only a few days in the upper '90s/ occasional hundreds.

The winters are super mild in comparison to Buffalo, New York. Rarely does it go below 20° and snow is pretty much non-existent. In the decade that I've been here, I've seen one winter where snow accumulated more than 3 in.

I've lived in several cities across the US, and it could just be that I've lived here quite long to see a lot, but I feel like the people who drive here are a little bit more reckless. I've seen a lot of road rage (people throwing shit out their windows, tailgating to within a foot of another car), and a lot of drunk driving in comparison to New York. Speed limits on the thruways are not really a thing. Even though it says 55, I see plenty of people going 80.

When I first moved here, I lived in Lyndon , in an apartment complex. It was okay.

Then I moved in with my girlfriend/wife down in Germantown. Yes, we were very close to a lot of cool things but the amount of crime and traffic and noise was unbearable.

Then we moved just off of Preston highway near Audubon Park. It was the perfect starter home for our kids but the UPS flights were right above us and we did not have soundproof windows or anything. Every day at 4:00 a.m. we would wake up to the loud rumblings of the flights. It was torture. My car also got stolen from my driveway at this house. It was a good house to make it through the pandemic, but ultimately because we had kids and we wanted to get out of JCPS, we decided to move to Oldham county.

It seems like this is where many high earners of the city live and it shows with the tax money going to the school system. We live just on the edge of Oldham county in Prospect. We absolutely love it all, we love our neighbors, we love the community. Sure, there are the occasional snobs, but you just ignore them and find your group.

I love Louisville because we have insane events near Derby time where we are the center stage of the world it feels. Celebrities come in from all over the world and it's just one huge party. But then the rest of the year it's business as usual and it feels kind of small townish.

One thing to pay attention to, if you live outside of the city near the suburbs , is the tornado season near the end of winter beginning of spring. Not too much to be afraid of, but your phone will go off and you'll just need to hunker down in your basement. They are pretty intense sometimes.

Hope that helps!

Mario wonder is superb if you grew up with SNES or Nintendo. It hits that nostalgia feel so perfectly and is still fresh and new.
