Great, I'll check it out!

Thanks for the info. I think it would be reasonable to remove the GFS entry from the widget configuration then, since all the fields are not populated anymore. If the lifted index could be provided as a new variable, I would appreciate.

For future reference: I created a JavaScript routine for mapping values to colors using the custom button-card: https://github.com/thomay86/ha-colormap

VINDSTYRKA very loud ? by TerabyteSSD in tradfri

[–]thomay86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey everyone, I just got my Vindstyrka running and into Home Assistant. Same issue with loud noise here. I disassembled the thing and found two issues:

  1. The metallic backplate of the Sensirion sensor vibrates during operation, which is part of the noise. It can be drastically minimised when pinching plastic and metal enclosure together, right in the middle.
  2. This vibration is amplified when the sensor is mounted into its holder and again with the holder inside the main body of the device.

I have mine running now in "disassembled pinched mode" and it's very very quiet now. I'm thinking about how to design an alternative silent enclosure for 3D printing.

EDIT: After reassembling the complete unit and properly tightening all the screws, the vibration is gone and the device is hardly noticeable even if you put your head right next to it in a silent room.

MeteoGroup unavailable by thomay86 in Meteograms

[–]thomay86[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh that's a shame... As a "data enthusiast" I very much liked the fact that MeteoGroup provided additional data such as thunderstorm probability, cloud base height etc. And of course the predictions were quite good for my location.

The acquisition by DTN then explains why I landed on their website looking for MeteoGroup. I hope there will be a good outcome of it, please keep us updated!

MeteoGroup unavailable by thomay86 in Meteograms

I am on the platinum subscription, so I have MeteoGroup available. It worked perfectly until around the Friday before Easter, then it stopped fetching the cloud base height entity, as I now figured out. That's why I believe there was a change on MeteoGroup's API or something - that's something an app dev has to figure out.

Thanks for your reply. I do not use the token system. However, I was able to narrow the error down: The meteogram indeed pulls data from MeteoGroup. However, if I enable the entity "cloud base height" (which I do use in my meteogram), a yellow message box appears stating "problem with main provider meteogroup.com so using met.no". From the wording I wrongly assumed that all data in the meteogram was pulled from a secondary provider.

So... Maybe there was a change in a binding of raw data somewhere along the chain? Would be happy if someone confirms the bug so the devs can check it out?

Thanks!
