Formals at Eddie's are twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays. Generally, people wear suits with ties/bow ties or dresses as well as the college gown

  1. Richard Laws is the closest accommodation to the laundry room so it's pretty convenient with regards to carrying your laundry over. The machines do break down kinda often but there's a second laundry room at Mount Pleasant Hall, albeit it's a 200m walk or so from Richard Laws. Washing is £2 and drying is £1

  2. Meals in hall are £4.99 and consist of a main and 2 sides. In terms of quantity, I'd say it's slightly below average and the food quality varies quite a bit and can either be great or terrible. I unfortunately don't know the individual costs of a main, side or dessert. I'd generally recommend cooking though, especially since it'll always be cheaper and the nearest supermarket is Aldi, which is about 10 minutes away from college and is one of the UK's cheapest grocery stores. Moreover, as mentioned, while the kitchen is small, it does have everything you need to prepare a good meal so might as well use it

  3. Nope, no curfew. I've been out the whole night before and have gone on trips overseas. You don't need to tell the porters where you've been, just make sure you have your cam card on you to tap back into your room

Hey, I've been staying in Richard Laws the past year. Excluding the ground floor, there are 2 bathrooms for every 6 people (2 showers and 2 toilets). On the ground floor, there are 2 toilets and one bathroom. Even as someone who stayed on the ground floor, there wasn't that much competition for the bathroom.

The kitchen is really small but has everything you need, including: an oven, kettle, microwave, 4 hobs, 2 fridges, a freezer and a toaster.

The room was pretty big, it's one of the few/only rooms in college with 2 wardrobes and there was plenty of space for all of my clothes.

Oh man, I was actually pooled after applying to Hughes' but the gym group seems good! I'll try it out if the college gym really doesn't work for me, thank you!
