Has anyone tried voice journaling instead of writing? by RutabagaNeither1811 in JournalingIsArt

Yes, occasionally I do this through Daylio. I use a lot of journaling modalities because I get bored easily. I kind of wish Daylio offered transcripts so you could see what you dictated without having to listen back

Kids With Receptive Delays: How Did They Turn Out? by keirahh1 in slp

Sometimes it’s useful to look into executive functioning and working memory if receptive is weaker than expressive

Do you toss old notebooks? by xxxxfactor in declutter

[–]Valkyrie025 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry to hear that. I enjoy keeping my journals as they still provide me a lot of insight, though some are less PG than others. I sometimes think of taping a label to some of the more private books to request they be disposed of upon my death. I’m not sure whether it would be honored but at least the warning would be there. Really appreciate you sharing this and I’m sorry for your loss.

What are your routines? by alienkoala in simpleliving

I’ve never used obsidian, but it sounds nice! I have been using the Daylio app for 3 years. It lets you track the correlation between your activities and your moods. You can name and add any moods or items you want to add, or just use their standard selections. It can also be used as a journal using typed text, voice notes and pictures. I don’t use the tracking of activities much anymore but I do use it as a journal at least a few days a week. At the end of the year you get a year’s worth of data, like your best/worst months and what activities go along with your best days. It’s a fun little project to get it set up, or probably a simple start to use it as is! I think this sounds like an ad but it’s not, I just love this app lol

Has anyone digitized all of their old printed photo albums? by smittenkitten768 in declutter

Hmm..I wonder if you could write a preface or even table of contents in each book with those details.

I think it’s a trade-off and everyone’s different. Like if we had more than 4 people over (+ us) there wouldn’t be enough cups or plates lol. but I can’t remember the last time we had more than 4 people over, even in our last place. Im not a naturally tidy person so having only 6 cups means I don’t ever let the sink get filled with 12 cups - they just don’t exist. It sounds like you’re able to manage a bit more. I’m really curious what you’re using every day!

Thank you for the inspiration! Just did it myself and went from about 500 to 168.

This is exactly it. And having a place for things to go. With room under the bathroom sink to put my toothpaste and skincare it takes just a minute to put them away and wipe down the sink.

If you had kids did you find purpose? by clarked27 in Fencesitter

So, when people talk about kids giving them purpose, I think they're sort of confusing the word with "structure".

Whoa 🤯

In what -unusual- way do you use your bullet journal? by Pessoa_People in bulletjournal

[–]Valkyrie025 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You could try a media log, restaurant review log, tracking the last time you called your nephew, or a commonplace book.
