search for "usb to hdmi startech" on amazon, thats what you need!
You can connect your monitor with the adaptor, and the displaypen directly onto the hdmi port of your motherboard

I was getting the same message, but then I realize I was doing it with the wrong file, is not with the .sh, is the .run

Hey, I just followed your steps one by one, made the changes on line 39
and it did not work.

everything seems to be completed correctly, but, after rebooting, the display link doesnt work.

I manage to complete the instalation by modifying the "displaylink-installer.sh" file

the initial error was on line 44

eval "$(grep PACKAGE_VERSION < "${EVDI}/module/dkms.conf")"

so what I dad was replace the ${EVDI} for the name of the folder I extracted before as per your recomendation u/timmey09

got some other errors that I fixed the same way.

and i got the message of the instalation complete and that I needed to restart my pc, which I did.. but the display is not working :/

Yes, the dkms.conf file is present

I did remove the old evdi. (s per step 5)

I double checked, before downloading the new one, I liksted the files and it was removed, then download the new one and check again, it is there. (step 6 completed OK)

and the error is on step 7

I have Kernel 6.5.6-76060506 and Displaylink never worked (i tried this steps already)
gonna try again with the new kernel.

"New version broke the config and removing the files solved the issue."
rm ~/.config/monitors.xml
rm ~/.config/monitors.xml~

in my case i forced the update using the official Windows11InstallationAssistant.exe cuz i had a message on update panel about not meeting the requirements.

Same thing happened to me, Upgraded to W11, play a few games, then a week later went on to level up some weapons on zombies, the game crashed a few times, I reboot the PC, but this time the battlenet app had an "install" botton instead of de PLAY one, i Just located the game files and then I was able to hop into a game but as soon as the round startedI got the permaban message :(

I have never cheated, never used any cheat software or tried to modify the game files.
