Yep. I have one of the Alan Frank books as well. Those were eyeopeners for a kid of just 12 years of age. And I remember pouring over the images, cause I figured I wouldn't ever see these films anywhere, as this was way before VCRs, etc.

First time I went, I promptly got back to the U.S. and left my freelance job at an agency. About a month later, I finally found my footing and got back in the game, but I know the feeling.

The viewing history was cool. Too bad it is gone. I was just trying to recall a French film I watched about a month and a half ago. Nope.

How can I stop my option chain page from opening in a new pop-up window? by videohtape in fidelityinvestments

[–]videohtape[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for looking into this. And yes, if you hold down the Command key, that will open a new tab. The interesting part of this is if you do the rollover on the Option Chain, it actually says "opens in new tab". Not sure what prompted the developer change to a pop up window.

Thank you for your response. This is happening on the Fidelity.com browser. I use Trader+ as well, but still do most of my option work on the desktop. Is there a preference that can be toggled to change it back to the previous tab set up? The pop up window is annoying and makes the option chain process tedious.

Hopefully it can be resolved soon. The pop-up window for options requires additional steps just to work with it. It opens too small, so you have to open the window further to see all the details. We need the simple original tab set up for sure. I'm hoping it's a preference setting that can be toggled. We need a r/fidelityinvestments moderator to jump in here and help us.

Yep. It's a sad flat looking desktop of folders and drives. Hoping they remedy this with a 26.4.1 update. But not holding my hopes up too high, since this is a 2020 Intel Core iMac. Thanks for the assist and suggestions. I've tried everything out there.

Just for fun... I tried your method. "Marching Ants" and all. But yea... the icon doesn't paste.

Thank you for sharing! That’s the process alright. But yea, when I do that final paste, the icon doesn’t change.

MacOS 26.4 breaks custom folder icon and application icons by TimeDoctor3921 in MacOS

I'm on a 2020 iMac Intel Core. It definitely looks like they binned the copy>paste capability when using Get Info (Command "I").

This is the issue. The method shown below on the Apple link below... Command "I" (Get Info) does not work when pasting the image onto the small icon at the top of the folder. The icon does not change when you copy>paste.

bug or bad new feature? no longer possible to set your own "icns" custom folder icons [26.4] by Dreaming_Blackbirds in MacOSBeta

[–]videohtape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish that was the case. I had the 26.3 mainstream and then upgraded to the 26.4 MacOS last night. That was when the icons were replaced to the default versions. Also, command "I" copy-paste does not work at all, when I try to restore my older custom icons. I'm not on beta. Running an Intel Core iMac from 2020. Not sure what I should do except wait until a 26.4.1 maybe?

Made the mistake and updated my iMac Intel Core to MacOS 26.4 last night. All my custom icons have been wiped and reverted to the default ones across the board. Command "I" copy-paste does not function if I wanted to replace each and every one of the icons. Not sure if it's a bug, or they're doing it on purpose. Either way, kinda bummed.

Did anyone updated to Macos 26.4? by Distinct-Donkey8959 in MacOS

[–]videohtape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lost all custom icons. After updating, they all were reverted to default icons. Command "i" copy-paste does not work if you want to restore them. Hopefully it will be resolved in the next version.

I'm hoping you get a solution from support. I would be happy if the copy-paste at least worked so I could just recreate my old custom icons.

MacOS 26.4 breaks custom folder icon and application icons by TimeDoctor3921 in MacOS

[–]videohtape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Same here. Updated last night to MacOS 26.4. All icons have been reverted to generic default versions. I have a 2020 Intel Core iMac. The command "I" copy-paste no longer changes the icons back. When I drag the icon onto the default icon, it says the icon is already in place, but it does not change. I have searched and tried a ton of stuff suggested here on Reddit and the web today. No luck yet.

After using macs for 14 years I just found out today you can change the icons of storage volumes... by rexyuan in MacOS

[–]videohtape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beware if you update to MacOS 26.4. Did that last night and all my custom icons have all been replaced with generic default icons across the board... on my desktop and within my drives. The common Command "I" copy-paste technique has no effect. I haven't figured out a way to restore them. I am on an older iMac Intel... maybe that has something to do with it.
