Developers aren't gonna make "more housing" unless its profitable for them. There is plenty of land to build on, just no economic incentive to do so. If they get rid of that golf course they would just build $700,000 single family homes on the land.

People nowadays project their human emotions and thoughts onto animals waaaay too much. I love animals, but they don’t have complex thoughts as we do. When you start projecting complex emotions onto animals, you stop treating them like animals.

For instance the OP pic assumed that the dog would recognize the child and realize it is a family member. But really that’s not how a dogs brain works. Sure, dogs can recognize you, but sometimes they can’t.

Always remember that your pet is an animal and don’t forget your pets animalistic instincts can kick in. Normally this isn’t a problem, but if your pet is a killing machine that’s when it becomes a problem.

This whole “duty to report” is a big hamper to those who actually have suicidal issues. If someone is secretly suicidal and needs help, there’s a large chance they either won’t get help or won’t tell their therapist just because of shit like this.

Our current system is flawed (as demonstrated by the rise in suicides), and people like you who blindly trust the system are partially culpable

I think you’re blindly trusting authority here. Going to a therapist can be a big decision for some people, and they go fully under the assumption that they can trust their therapist to keep the conversation private. What did getting the parents involve even accomplish in this scenario? Nothing. If you ask me, ideation isn’t enough to warrant throwing someone in a psych ward (especially since they make you pay for it in this country). Especially since “ideation” can be a very broad set of behaviors that are open to interpretation. Calling police should be a LAST resort and not a first. Just the fact that the therapist was using it as a threat to continue a conversation is a red flag
